Luke Kornet what can we expect?
While Rob is out, Luke Kornet will average around 4.4 PPG and 5 rebounds provided he gets at least 14 MPG.
Write that one down. This projection is based on his production with the Celtics in games where he averaged 14 MPG. (very small sample size)

Physically Luke has so much more going for him than Grant to play center. If only he had Grant's heart, brains, and determination to improve every year.

I’d rather roll the dice with Kabengele and Vonleh splitting the minutes to help out Al until RWill gets back. GWill is not a 5 and can help us as a stretch 4 that can defend and score a little. Kornet is too slow and soft.

I'd rather Noah and Fi myself, but I was just trying to contrast Luke with Grant who is so much smaller.

I agree with all of these replies.
If he plays tonight and is not in the starting lineup then I do not see how he would be ready to get a start on the 18th vs Philly.
I do want to see him play.
Early during training camp it was reported that he was working with the starting unit. Then he sprained an ankle and has missed all 3 preseason games.
In the meantime several other bigs have shown some potential to pair with AH in our 2 big lineup.
At the end of the day we should anticipate changes in our starting lineup until coach Joe finds a sweet spot. I think he wants to replicate what we did last season. He just needs to decide which of our rotation bigs can make it work the best. If none of them can play along side AH I would expect us to go with a smaller lineup.

Games where he averaged 14 MPG? That seems to be an odd way to word it.
Are these games where he played 14 minutes or more?
Are these games where he played between 10-18 minutes (ave. = 14)?
I know that you found this stat somewhere, but I don't understand the way you are using it.
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/k/kornelu01.html
For his first three seasons, he averaged 16.3, 17.0 and 15.5 MPG. He played in 102 games (started 33)
Points per game: 6.7, 7.0 and 6.0
Rebounds per game: 3.2, 2.9 and 2.3 (3.2 was his high mark, 5 seems to be a reach?)
After those three seasons, his playing time decreased, and his counting numbers suffered for it.
Anyway, I am curious who was on the floor with Luke during those games where he "averaged" 14 MPG? During his time with the Celtics, his playing time often came during garbage time with a bunch of similar end of bench players.
An impressive group of starters and top rotation players will surround him this season, so the results may differ from what we have seen in the past. If he does play some with the starters this season, we will not need his points as much as we will need his rebounds. That doesn't give us much hope, does it?
So, I also want to see him play, in my case, with the starters. That keeps us with the two-big lineup and allows the two Jays to play 2 and 3 (instead of 3 and 4) and keeps our size advantage against most teams.
