Kita Tayo Mamaya
Well, I'm off again. My last day in the US will be Saturday. On Sunday, in the dead of the night, I will be boarding a plane to the Philippines. The difference between this trip and all previous ones is that this time I only bought a one-way ticket. I do plan on returning to the Land of the Big PX, I just don't know exactly when. I want to see how I do when I'm not managing to a predetermined end date. In all previous trips, no matter how long they lasted, I always knew when it was going to be over and I managed to that date. No matter where I was, no matter how long I was there, I always knew that I had to fit all my goals, activities and experiences into a known, finite window. Not this time. I won't need to leave anywhere until I'm damn good and ready because I won't be stealing days from Peter to pay Paul. It's just the next step in my evolution. If I had to guess I'd say I'll be back sometime around March or early April (taxes!) but it could be sooner. It all depends upon how it goes. In my opinion this might be my most challenging trip yet, even more so than backpacking in Africa for 5 months. That was physically demanding, and emotionally draining, but I knew how long I had to keep going to, and so I kept going. This trip will be emotionally undiscovered territory for me.
Aside from my being offline while I'm in the air I'll be dealing with a 16 hour time zone difference between Silicon Valley and Manila (13 hours between US EST and Manila). So I probably won't be creating as many threads since I'll be asleep when they will be published. The good news is that I'm bringing my laptop and will be able to watch some games over breakfast, so I hope to be joining you all on the Game On! threads.
Btw, kita tayo mamaya means "See you later" in Tagalog. Kita kits is slangier, like "See ya!", but it's not 10 characters and so I couldn't use it for a thread title.

Looking forward to your travels BobH, and glad you will be able to still be somewhat active here on the Forum.
Did we used to have a Philippino contingent here, or was it back in the BDC era? Either way maybe an opportunity to track down some fellow Celtics fans.

Have a great trip, Bob. I envy you, as at my age and condition any traveling is out of the question. Keep safe, but not so much that you can't enjoy yourself.

Bob, FYI. We've got our magnetometer back and fully functional. Saturday and Sunday are calm days on the sea, and we'll be staring a new mag survey 1/4 mile to the West of where you and I did the last one. Fingers crossed. If we find the treasure, I'll be inviting you back to watch a Celtics game from the front row. Happy travels.
