Celtics17 wrote:I like this move. Yes, it's nothing major, but it adds depth. Horford and Rob need to be fresh for the playoffs. Muscala brings another seasoned big man that can hit a three. Having Blake, Kornet, Muscala and Grant allows Coach Joe to manage Al and Rob's minutes as well as giving them nights off through the regular season. Good solid move by Brad!!
The Celtics have 3 more B2B remaining. AH does not play in B2B games.
The Celtics also have their 2nd 6 game road trip coming up in March. They will be playing 6 games in 10 days including a B2B on 3/17 and 3/18.
The Celtics want to keep winning games and it will require a liberal use of their bench. There are 27 game left and I cannot recall a season flying by so fast. I sure hope we can go into the playoffs healthy but I am not going to worry about it. Every team is faced with the same uncertainties.

Re: Mike Muscala to the Celtics
I read that that was the ask, but the Celtics weren't interested at that price. He would have been a very expensive rental.dboss wrote:Rumor has it that the Celtics had both Gallo and PP in a trade for Poeltl. I do not know if that is true. Both will be with us for the duration. If Gallo gets back that would be great and we can still use his DPE to add one more player.

A very good friend, who happens to be Cs fan and happens to live in OKC, told me that we will like this guy on the first day he is on the court in a green uniform.
Is he dressing tonight?

Thanks. As I said, I hadn't seen it, now I have.
Did he really say, “I’d play this game for no money if that’s what it means . . ."? Yeah, I know he said it, but really?
It doesn't seem like he made any demands (I hope). He should have a conversation with some of the vets on the team. They'd tell him, "Being on a contending team is a rare thing, grab that ring when it comes around and hold on tight."
Cmon, Im sure Pritchard didn't really mean he’d play for no money. Not literally. It’s just his way of saying “I really wanna play-bad”.
Nothing wrong with that. I want him to want to play.
Telling him to embrace being on a winning team while not playing much is easy for us to say.
I don’t know too many people worth their salt that would take a job and be happy not being a contributor.
I admire the fact that Pritchard wants to play, is saying it but not making a stink about it.
Who wants to sit in a cubicle, collect a check, do nothing and be happy that they’re working for a Fortune 500??

He has fit in seamlessly, great pick up. Guess it never hurts to have another stretch big in this era.

The Celtics have an interesting configuration of bigs.
From a depth standpoint we were not close to being this diverse last year. The Muscala addition has started to look like another stroke of genius from Brad Stevens.

Muscala will have 4 games under his belt by Wednesday. That should be enough tape and time. Baptism by fire!!

Re: Mike Muscala to the Celtics
A couple of comments about MM.
His floor stretching ability is similar to what AH does for our offense.
I would like to see him paired with RW when Al is not on the floor. The Celtics could run the same actions.
MM is playing in a very different defensive scheme and I think his defense will improve. The Celtics have enough games remaining to get him fully integrated.
His addition to the team provides the Celtics with a deep rotation at both the 4/5 spots.
The Celtics have the deepest team in the league at both PG and at center. None of the top teams in the East or in the West have as many quality options.

Just wanted to mention how hard and good Blake Griffin is playing. Craves the dirty work, is hitting open shots and how about that intense Cowens like dive for the loose ball!!! We are 5 deep at 4-5 with heady vets earning playing time.
