Hawks beat Miami
Looks like a broken team to me, Looks like we will be playing the Hawks. Everyone was worried about Miami, looks like Atlanta is ready to give the Celtics a run.

Box score:
https://www.espn.com/nba/game?gameId=401539671
Even though we just played the Hawks the other day, that specific game gives us no clue as to any real matchups that will take place next Saturday. We rested our starters and they did too.

Re: Hawks beat Miami
Bless my soul.
I completed an extensive pre-series analysis on Miami with the intensions of posting it after the Hawks/Heat game. Against my better judgment, I decided not to also do one on the Hawks.
As I was watching the game, while rooting for the Hawks, I experienced several damn-it flashes as I resigned myself to the reality that my Heat assessment was heading to the 'thread not posted file', at least for the time being.
The result of this game can best be understood by one undeniable factor. Rebounding and 2nd chance points for the Hawks decided this game. For the record, the Hawks laid waste to the Heat 63-39 in rebounding, including a 22-6 advantage on the offensive glass which produced a corresponding 21 2nd chance points.

Re: Hawks beat Miami
That was a crazy game. Not what anyone was expecting and the same ALMOST happened out West. The fact that the Lakers should have run roughshod over the Timberwolves given LAL was fully loaded and MEM was not should be a pretty clear indicator of the Lakers immediate future.
I've never seem to recall the ball bouncing the way it did for all those offensive and defensive rebounds for ATL.
Celtics should not take ATL lightly. Please let's not give them ANY hope. ATL has a very good new coach, new attitude and absolutely nothing to lose. Perfect for an eff up on our end. We did sweep these clowns during the regular season, but we all know the playoffs change everything and you throw in ATL's late season move re: coach that anything can and will happen.
First big test for Mazzulla Corn Oil...getting out of the first round. OK. I just thought of that one but I'm sure even Joe has heard that one a thousand times. dboss and Ktron rate the above as we are the only ones perpetuating the coach name change! I'd go with MCO!

Re: Hawks beat Miami
Okay Dbrown ..if you insist. Here ya go!
Coach Joe nicknames and when one applies
- SIASJ -
- ( in my Snoop Dog voice) I can’t BELIEEEVE you didn’t call time out.
-You’re actually gonna use Kornet to combat Atlanta’s rebounding strength ?
MCO- Mazzulla Corn Oil-
Does this have something to do with getting “cooked”? I’m lost. Help me out D.Brown
- Sloppy Joe-
Turnover city and just a plain mess on offense and defense.
-“SEPP”- ( short form name for Joseph)
“The C’s would have won this game “Sepp” Joe refused to challenge the call and the 2 minute report later substantiated what everyone else saw “Sepp”Joe.
Or…everyone on the entire board says Joe screwed up “Sepp” NY, Jrleftfoot and Gyso. :>)
- “Joe Cool” -
When the C’s win with a buzzer beater in a game 7 and the entire team is jumping for joy, high-5ing and chest bumping, Sepp Joe who remains on the bench chewing gum and staring at his clipboard.
- Coach “Joe Palooka”-
When a player from the opposing team purposely shoulder bumps Joe on his way to a time out and Joe knocks him the F out with a left hook.
- “Joe Blow” -
The name says it all. He fked up and blew the game because he didn’t call a timeout.
- “Average Joe”-
When the C’s finally win # 18 in June and everyone on the entire board SEPP, NY, Jrleftfoot and Gyso :>) says- “Any average Joe could have coached THIS team to a championship.”
Thats as far as I go Joe :>)

Disagree there, Joe has worked his ass off for this team. Sure, he had his ups and downs, but, sorry, he has led this team. His way is different than Ime, so what. If the players did not like playing for Joe, you would know about it by now. He has done good as far as I am concerned.

I agree with you. We’re just having fun with the name. Joe’s done a good job this season.
