JT just has not taken the next step toward leadership, if only by example. He continues to whine about calls, make lazy passes, and not have his head in the game. I’m hoping he will get it, but I’m not sure he ever will.

Game 6 is going to be interesting. Can we play consistent basketball for 48 minutes!

It ain't about scapegoating and it ain't about fixing or not fixing or any of those other alternative if ands or buts. That sounds like a bowl of word salad

Each player earns their own level of praise or criticism as does the coach.

Every closely contested game that I have ever watched comes down to coaching decisions and player execution.

I have no earthly idea why CJ did not devise a defensive strategy to take the ball out of the hands of a player that everyone in the universe knew was going to take the last shot. You really cannot fix a player unless you fix yourself first.

As fans, we're all disappointed when the Celtics lose one as they did last night. Also as fans, we see things we have opinions on and want to comment on, good and bad. Again... in our Opinion.

I've got to say I like Ktron's style here. Says what he thinks and does it with some humor too. I'm still laughing at the Christian Scientist with a severed artery line. Best way to convey a nervous feeling I've ever seen.

Through it all, I don't get the feeling Ktron is out on the ledge waiting to jump. Says what he thinks, likes or dislikes and moves on. Seems to have faith in the team, is a fan regardless.

I'll only think they are great if they take it all. I hope they will, but I have my doubts which have been confirmed over and over again this season. They undoubtedly have the talent to do it. But the drive? The BB IQ? We'll see.

Every time the Celtics drop a game, people go crazy, insisting the Tatum "just doesn't have "it"!!" or some variation of that. The good thing though, is that I'm pretty sure there are something like 29 other teams that would probably take that dead weight off of our hands.

No NBA team has ever gone 82 and 0. No team has ever gone undefeated in the playoffs. The Hawks are an NBA team, and earned the 7th seed. They are not a dumpster fire, and they're playing to survive. The 2008 Hawks took the 2008 Celtics to 7 games in the first round of those playoffs (a 1 vs 8 matchup), and the Cavs took them to 7 games in the second round (a 1 vs 4 matchup). I guess Garnett, Pierce, and Ray nearly didn't have "it"...

This is a very underachieving team, I don’t know how Tatum can’t figure out how to get to the line and just drive….especially when your damn 3 point shot is so off. As this series has gone longer, he has gotten worse, more inefficient and not able to figure out a way to lead his team from not collapsing. Tomorrows game is going to be huge to see which Tatum shows up, is he tired already like how he ended last season? How come he’s so dumb and can’t figure out how to adjust his game? Joe had alot to do with that collapse too obviously, we are gonna find out what this team is made of. A good coach and true superstar would not let his team blow a 13 point lead with 6 minutes left in a crucial clinching game.

My response:
I thought it was great. Giannis was emotionally but kept it in perspective. To me thats hard to do after what they just went through.

I thought it was great as well, Ktron. These players can shut all these reporters up asking the stupid, non-thought out questions if they would answer something to the effect of,

"Well, our team just lost a series we had no business losing, I just looked at my checking account balance and with that I'm still pretty dang successful. I love what I do for a living and would do it for free. I know you have to do your job as a reporter, but if you knuckleheads would realize that you and the fans create the wins and losses, regular season and the playoffs. We'd play for free if we had to and not care about fans, the press, stupid questions, etc. You all care about the wins and losses and the championships. You force the narrative. While we as players care to a certain degree about winning and losing and playoffs and championships, you are the ones driving the bus. Wining the championship is not our job. It's something tacked onto the end of the season to produce a last team standing. And you guys pay for it. We'd be idiots to play for free now. Way too much on the table. So we come to work. You DA fans care more about a championship that anyone in the NBA ever will. Only one team wins a championship every year. Only 15 players win a championship every year. Droves and droves of players come into and through the NBA every year and exit out the back ala Charles Barkley. No championship. You drive that bus. Not us. So you better like your job. I like my job playing basketball. Are we competitive? Absolutely. Psychotic like Jimmy Butler as described by Coach Spo. But as for what Giannis said, it was very well crafted for on the spot. We all like seeing a coach or player squirm on the hot seat after a debilitating loss. As long as it's not a Celtic. We know the stupid questions are coming. But it appeared Giannis had carefully thought about his answer before stepping up to the hot seat. Job well done, Giannis. Guess what? He'll be back next season!! He's such a great face/front for the league. But as for now and the Bucks, this season is over.

Let's now move the spotlight over to Atlanta, the only game on tonight.

He'll have it coming if we blow this game tonight, which all indications are we will, and he chucks up 1-10 from 3-ville on a team that has no interior defense. And 1's are little more work than chucking 3's but just as, if not more, effective.

Again, here are some more gifts extended by MIL now. They are out and were at least perceived as our biggest threat. Do we return to sender and say we'll win it in a G7? I'm not willing to take that chance. Tonight is G7. Win it going away and we get an Invitation to the Big Boy table that currently has MIA, PHI, GSW, LAL and NYK already seated. Lose tonight and for all intents and purposes, our season is over. It may take another game or two or another series. Remember, PHI HAS TO get the the ECF or that whole organization blows up, top to bottom.

But trust me, the 2023 Playoffs will be over for us if we lose tonight.

Giannis is a classy guy. I thought he gave a good response considering the circumstances.

The bucks situation compared with us is eerily similar. The Bucks just blew a 16 point fourth quarter lead at home to a clearly inferior opponent. Sound familiar? Maybe people have a different opinion, but I think Coach Bud is horrible. He was clearly outcoached by Spolestra. Sound familiar? We have a rookie coach going up against a very good experienced coach in Synder. One guy basically beat the Bucks. Sound familiar?

The Bucks also made a terrible decision sitting Giannis in game 3. He obviously could have played, but they figured they were so much better than the Heat that they could go down a game and still win the series. I don't know who made that decision, but you don't sit your best player in a playoff game if he's 80 or 90%. He came back and looked 100% fine to me. Was this coach Bud's call? Feel bad for Giannis, he's a good guy. They sound have beat the Heat.

I hope we can make the proper adjustments and not let what happened to the Bucks happen to us. Everything thing is there for us now. Home court throughout the playoffs. Got to capitalize.

The Celtics should win tonight but they like to live on the edge. Knowing they have a game 7 still available may impact their will to win tonight.

Fans can only hope that Celtics do not use their final lifeline to get the job done.

While still unlikely, the Hawks could win a game 6 and 7.

The Celtics would have to really choke for that scenario to play out.

Reading between your lines, you have concluded tonight is 99% a convincing, must win game for a variety of reasons. dboss is providing that 1% with the G7 option. While it doesn't work in this scenario, the Celtics should not bring a change of clothes. But you get the message. Wasn't it the 90's Bulls that pulled that stunt? That wrapped up the series on the opposing team's court in one game. We should do the same.

In case you haven't seen in another thread I believe, I have Coach Bud on Ax Alert for that miserable 1st Round exit. Horrible coaches get axed.

dboss, you are correct about living on the edge. I'm gettin' too old for that bs!! So did the 2008 team in the first two rounds if my math is correct...and it is!!

Here's my prediction, FWIW (and it ain't worth much): Tatum scores 30+ points and the Celtics finish the job winning by at least 10 points. The thing about Tatum is that he CAN have great games-he has the ability. His impediment to becoming a superstar is that he is so maddeningly inconsistent.

I know it’s not realistic but I wish more people/players in the league were more like Giannis. He’s a good guy and a competitor at the highest level.
Dbrown, good points and I know a lot of players probably want to say what you posted but they’d better not.
Lebron came closest when he said, “At the end of the day y’all still have to wake up and go to your jobs”. Not very nice.

I think Giannis said what he said at the time because thats how he feels. I don’t think he expected some of the same questions.However, you can tell that he has great vision and knows whats really important in life. Bless his heart.
