Why NBA Players Fail In Europe
We have SL coming up starting this weekend but not much otherwise as the initial flurry of free agency signings have subsided. I'm posting this video to start a conversation. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. LOL.
I'd like to point out that a lot of international players fail in the NBA too, so it goes both ways. There appears to be a systemic difference between the leagues and not just a talent one.

“I love basketball. I’m not ready to stop playing yet. Wherever the wind takes me.” When I caught up with Kemba Walker earlier this year, he was adamant his playing career wasn't over. Now he'll be suiting up for Monaco next season.
Bob
MY NOTE: I'm not sure this is a fair follow up to the story. Kemba's done in the NBA, his knees just won't let him. A shorter schedule, easier defensive assignments might be good enough for him to play longer.

The fall from superstar to nobody was quick for Kemba. It is a sad story, as is IT's. Those little guards, once they get injured like those two did, knee's give out, hips give way, it happens so fast. IT is still having a hard time accepting his fall from the top. His is a sadder story, at least Kemba made his money, IT never got that big pay day that he so longingly wished for. The Brinks truck never found it's way to his house. Eventually they will both play in that league set up for players who cannot walk away. What is it called? The Big 3??? I saw Michael Beasley last week, a guy who had the talent but could not put it all together. Look at Joe Johnson, he has made his money, I think I read $220 million, but he cannot stop playing at 41 or so. Sad, sad stories

Porzingis will make more this year ($36 million) than IT did for his entire career ($34.4 million).

Re: Why NBA Players Fail In Europe
I think about that kid and it makes me sick. He gave everything he had and more. I was at the game where KarlAnthony Townes fell on him. That was the beginning of the end. Imagine feeling sorry for a guy who makes $34 million in their young life, playing a kids game. But this is the world we are living in. I have to swallow hard before I say $300 million for Jaylen at 26 yrs old. Oh well.

The BIG 3 league is/was not designed for players who ‘couldn’t walk away’.
The BIG 3 league is for players who want to extend their basketball career, not
Their NBA careers.
The game is of course 3 on 3 and there are different rules as well as attempts at innovation like the 4 pt shot etc.
I don’t know if you’ve had a chance to watch any of it but it’s played much differently than the NBA game.
Personally, I find it very entertaining, fun and it’s good to see retired players still able to play the game.
BTW, not every retired player can play in the BIG 3. One still has to have some game.
Players make between $500k -$5 million.
CBS carries some of the games so it is legit.
If you can still play and make some decent bucks why not be a part of the BIG 3.

Exactly I certainly don’t feel sorry for Joe Johnson, he can have fun and still earn very good bucks playing hoops…..great life

Totally agree, although I can't say for sure, my guess is Joe Johnson just loves to ball. If he still has some game why not play in the Big 3 and have some fun.
