Pre-Game Bucks/Clash of the Titans
Well, we are still atop the league and for the most part doing extremely well. Everybody gets to rest up, lick wounds, etc. in preparation for tomorrow against the Bucks at home. If you thought CHA had it out for us, wait until tomorrow night.
This will be fun as my middle son Evan will be here Wednesday afternoon through Sunday as Thanksgiving break has started at University of Arkansas. I've already texted him when we watch the game together there will be grinding and gnashing of teeth along with much yelling and probably a few f-bombs!
So let's see where things are. We should have everyone back but won't know until game time. No reason to speculate there. It will be what it will be.
Giannis will be Giannis. We know how to defend him. The big new piece of course is Damian Lillard. Giannis had to lay his guns down against management and sign up when Dame came on board. The front office got him about as good a pick up as they could get. Unfortunately, the lost a lot of defensive help, one main piece of which will be staring them in the face tomorrow.
We're going to find out if the Bucks are for real. We know we are. But the only match up that should be first and foremost will be whether Jrue can shutdown Dame. All the rest are pretty much givens. If we can "Kevin Durant" him and make him look like a 5th Grader, we'll win by 40. Brad got Jrue just for this match up. Whoever wins this battle come playoff time goes to the Finals. Say what you will but that's it. Now Coach Joe has been shifting Jrue off on the Bigs lately and he may do that for a play or two like Spoelstra throws in junk D's just to throw him off, but you lock up Lillard and you lock up the Bucks. It's that simple. Easy to say. Hard to execute. Jrue, tomorrow night is all about you, other things equal. If Jrue makes him work and whoever Dame draws on our offensive end makes him work to tire the legs, it's curtains for the Bucks.
We will probably have to go Double Bigs since Lopez will be there, but I'm just guessing. You guys and gal are far better about knowing starting line-up match-ups. KP better find his 3-point shot. Again, I don't know why he's been front-rimming 3's from the jump. Lopez has his deep shot down. KP has a tendency to get in foul trouble as well. Will need to play smart with all that height and maybe try to get Lopez or Giannis in foul trouble.
But for me, tomorrow is about the reality of the Bucks and Dame vs. Jrue. It should be entertaining for sure. We need to continue to grow and a victory heading into Thanksgiving would be very thankful and graciously received!
