Denver Pre-Game
Anyone have any thoughts on this one with all our injuries and Karl looking for his 1,000 win. While I like George, I don't want him winning his 1,000 game on our court. And since Charlotte stole one from them last night, I have a feeling they will really come at us tonight.
Business as usual? Interesting comment from ESPN article below from Paul:
Pierce said injuries wouldn't affect the team's belief that they should win every time they step on the court.
"Well, as a young team, you make excuses -- we're injured, that's why we didn't win the game -- but with this group, it doesn't matter who we put on the court with injuries, we feel like we're going to win. We feel like we can win. And, so, no matter who we put out on that court, we feel like we've got a great chance of winning and we don't use it as an excuse."

Hi,
Doesn't look good with all the injuries.
But let's look on the bright side: all the "pups" will be tested under fire.
I hope Doc is ready to sacrifice this game and maybe the next to keep RR and Shaq healthy and keep minutes for big 3 at sane level.

Hi,
Thankfully, I was wrong. But RR didn't look good - Doc should've rested him.

Sinus,
On one hand, it's difficult to complain about a 13-assist performance. But Rondo did look as though he was operating at half speed. It's quite a testimony to both Rondo and his teammates that they could click so well against a good team with him operating at half speed.
During the game, I noticed him working on some sort of device that I thought was for his foot, but Mike or Tommy said it was for his hammie. I was surprised when Rondo played because it seems as though some extended rest may be the only remedy for his various problems. But I'm sure Doc and the medical staff are monitoring the situation carefully, and there must be some method to the "madness" of continuing to play him.
It's rather comforting that Nate seems to be improving in his ability to fill in for Rondo with the starters if necessary. However, it's my impression that these Celtics need a the impact of a floor general more than a shooter at the 1 position and would suffer without one against the elite teams. Moveover, the bench suffers if their point guard has to move up to starting status.
I realize that many board members are excited about Avery Bradley, and he truly looks to be defensive stopper (an unusual attribute for a rookie). But he's pretty much lost on the offensive end; and I happen to believe that the need this season is for greater balance between offense and defense.
Whatever happens regarding the position, I can only hope that any discontinuity doesn't seriously undermine the amazing chemistry that this team seems to have.

Not completely sure about this but that "device" certainly looked similar to what we used in early workouts in track and cross country. As you rock back in it it really stretches your hamstrings and achillies tendon. We used it to help prevent shin splints primarily but it also helped with flexability. I never recall any of us ever getting a pulled hammy.
