Cedric Maxwell says that Boston's Jayson Tatum needs to stop crying to referees

Doesn't make any difference when he whines, they have stopped listening to him. I just wonder why someone like Luca, who does it constantly gets the calls and Jayson doesn't. He is a whiner though

I agree. Not saying he, or others, should stop talking to the officials, but pick your spots and don’t show up the refs.

The rest of the league knows that getting overly physical with Tatum takes him out of his game when he perceives the lack of calls. The entire league knows this and use it as a strategy.
Many of the "star players" complain about bad calls, but it doesn't seem to affect their game on the court in that game. For Tatum, it is his kryptonite. He loses control, is late getting back and he reverts to hero ball.
We don't need Cedric Maxwell to tell us that. There has been plenty of articles written about this and we can see with our own eyes what happens to a frustrated Tatum.

Leonard may be one of only a few top tier players that rarely gets into it with the refs. I really to not see Tatum as being particularly annoying. However if it does not help his cause, why do it?
The only thing I will say is that JT gets too distracted when a call does not go his way. Those brief moments of discord can lead to a loss of focus in moving on to the next play. It hurts the team more in transition situations.
Tatum is a terrific player but he still does not get back in transition especially if he misses a shot and no foul is called. He lollygags.
