Now what about #15
The Banton trade leaves the Celtics with one more roster spot that must be filled. I think the incomplete roster charge is around $1.1 million.
I am going to assume that the Celtics will be looking to fill that roster spot.
The bargain basement heap of discarded items could bring forth something but I would go in a different direction. The Celtics have a guy on this team that does not play a lot of minutes but he plays hard, never complains and he already has established familiarity with his teammates.
I am lobbying for Queta to get that final roster spot. He has averaged 4.8 PPG and 4.5 rebounds in only 12.2 MPG. I have always believed that effort should be rewarded. One thing is already proven. The Celtics do well when he is on the court. They are getting winning minutes. According to NBA.com advanced stats he has a Net rating of 18.6. On offense it is 128.9 and his defensive rating is 110.5

But why would we want another big? We just added Tillman to supplement AH, KP and LK. (I'm having a conversation with myself) What about adding another shooter that you have been bitching about?
Well that is still an option but anyone that you add comes in with zero experience playing in our system. At least Queta does not have to start from scratch. Plus if you have 3 new guys added to the team 51 games in, how do all 3 of them really get integrated?
Here is another good reason (self-evaluated) The Celtics have a chance to role out their black and blue option. Big, strong and physical, more likely to inflicts more pain and suffering on the opponents. Call it the 'beat the living snot out of you' group. The real reason why #18 has been so elusive is because we have not won enough physical battles to actually win the war!

Re: Now what about #15
I think adding Queta as roster spot #15 makes perfect sense.
My biggest concerns for the season's second half and the playoffs are team health at center (Porzingis and Horford) and guard (Holiday). I believe those must be the main front office concerns given the two trade deadline moves.
Both centers, Porzingis and Horford, have shown an inability to stay on the court. Queta has looked OK in the minutes he has played and along with Tillman and Kornet could be the most reliable big to play nightly.
