Derrick White can do no wrong these days (maybe ever). He’s a defensive wizard, a marksman from 3 point range, a connector on offense and an anchor on defense. He’s everything the Celtics could possibly want.
Oh yeah, and he’s also a great teammate and by all accounts a really great guy. So it is really fun to see his personality come out a little bit in this Sam Adams commercial.
This is just a fun commercial that plays upon the Boston area stereotypes in a playful way. It kind of reminds me of the SNL Dunkin Donuts skit from a few years back. Well done by everyone.

Amina Smith is leaving NBC Sports Boston for ESPN

Amina Smith's last day at NBC Sports Boston will be next Wednesday.
Amina Smith, who has spent the last three years as a Celtics and Patriots studio host at NBC Sports Boston, is leaving for ESPN. Her last day is next Wednesday.
Smith came to Boston in March 2021 from Chicago, where she was a host/reporter for digital sports network Stadium, covering college football and the NBA. She is a Brooklyn native and University of Miami graduate.
She will be starting at ESPN on April 2 as a “SportsCenter” anchor.
Tom Giles will handle Celtics pregame and postgame responsibilities for the rest of this season. It is a familiar role for Giles; he stepped in as the studio host on Celtics coverage last year when Smith was on maternity leave.

Thanks guys. That commercial just hit my funny bone, I love Derrick, so down to earth. Being here in Boston, we have some of the funniest locals in the world. BobC. You know what I mean. Fats, Affleck, Damon, et al. Anyway, thanks I just wanted to give everyone a laugh

BobC, you have no idea how glad I am that that girl is gone, i always knew this was just a stepping stone for her, she is not a Boston fan, and really never learned the history of the Celtics As with Carter with you, her voice went right thru me. Another reason for me not to ever watch ESPN!!!!!!!
