3 way trade?
According to BDC, by way of AP:
1. NJ sends Terence Williams to Houston and Joe Smith to the Lakers. The Nets receive the Lakers 1st round draft pick in 2011, Houston's 1st round pick in 2012 and Sasha Eurobitch from the Lakers.
2. Houston gets Terence Williams for their 2012 first rounder.
3. The Lakers give up their 1st round pick in 2011 and Sasha for Joe Smith. Joe Smith has played just 25 minutes in 4 games for NJ this season, but he's getting the veteran's minimum (so Buss saves a few bucks) and he can still play some.
The Nets now have 5 first round picks through 2012. Five. I would guess this puts them in the lead in the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes.

Re: 3 way trade?
Smart move by the Nets who badly need to rebuild and find a way to put fans in the seats. Lakers do well to save some $ and don't give up anything of real value; just a pick way back in the draft and Sasha. But I still want to know how in the name of all that's right and proper in this world does Sasha end up with Maria Sharapova?

Maybe some of our Lakers friends can tell us whether this most has any connection to concerns about Bynum's recovery track. I would guess not, as the Lakers could use a backup center anyway.

sam,
And I thought you were going to say it was because he was having trouble putting it in the hole and needed help.
