gotta wonder, what is going on with this team?? Do they enjoy being embarrassed at home? worked all year for home court to blow it in second game in both series. Maybe they like playing with their backs against the wall. That could backfire

Every potential championship Celtic team has their shining uniqueness's and sweep under the carpet idiosyncrasies. The 2008 team was thrown together in one year and went from worst to first. Their trek through the playoffs was trying at best but they held home court like it was their ticket to Heaven. The 3 80's teams were the same. Nobody's perfect. This team is not. They're close, but they're beatable just like everyone else is. OKC helped lighten this blow to us. Now if DEN can find their asses tonight, the story will be off us and on to others where it needs to be.
For one of its annoying idiosyncrasy, this team just likes playing with fire I'm afraid. We're just going to have to accept that. It's a hard pillow to swallow for us old schoolers. But there is always more than one way to skin a cat. This is their way. They play very well on the road. There's the balance. We are either moving forward or moving backwards in the playoffs. Every game. Every series. Every play. None of these happened last night for moving forward. There is no treading water in the playoffs. They simply do not hold home court as sacred. Like the farmer looks at the earth he holds its sacred, the way the Christian looks at their Bible and holds it sacred... (any Sam Kinesin fans out there?!! Greatest scene ever!!)
Anyway, I digress. Now CLE just poked the bear again. Ask MIA how that worked out for them and all the fallout with now BS Jimmy. My grandmother and dad always said, "No use crying over spilt milk." And, "Never scream unless the house is on fire!" We're just going to have to forget about home court advantage with this team as currently constructed. So far over the past two playoffs seasons to date, this team has not learned much, IMHBAO. Doesn't mean we still can't win it all. It just ain't gonna to look like anything we have seen before. And for us old schoolers here on the site, that's going to take some time to digest. But the ball is literally in their court, the proof will be in the pudding and they will have to show us beyond a shadow of a doubt and make us believers. I'm anxious for the lesson! Let's see it, Boston!!

Trading places.
It was as if the two teams traded skill sets from game one.
One to forget. Should have spent the time doing something else.

We got 'em right where we want 'em. Celtics in 5.
Sometimes the Celtics forget what got them to this point and the team needs a beatdown to remind them.

Right Gyso, how would you feel if you paid for a ticket to that mess last night. I wish I could express to them how they make fans feel after cheering for them all year

Every time I think these Celtics have matured, every time I think they've grown mentally and emotionally, they confound me.
Our 41% shooting doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as their 54.7% shooting.
Jrue is now shooting 36% in the post season. I know he does a lot of other stuff, but he's worse than Marcus Smart, offensively.
Tatum is shooting 40% in the post season. His regular season average was 47%. This has happened every post season. WTF? It's mental, that's all it is, but the 4" muscle between the ears is the difference between winners and Champions.
Derrick with an extremely forgettable 3-11, 1-8 from 3 night.

The Celtics in the Mazzulla era: In 16 playoff wins: 39.1 3P% 40 3PA 113.6 PPG In 11 playoff losses: 32.3 3P% 37.3 3PA 106.7 PPG

Tatum says the "super team" narrative for the Celtics seems to only apply in losses. He said Boston didn't win Coach of the Year, didn't have the MVP, and "only" had two All-Stars

Jayson Tatum: "The world thinks we're never supposed to lose and win every game by 25. It's not going to be like that all the time. ... I like to think we respond pretty well when we do lose."
Cleveland's mission was to come to Boston and win at least one out of two, and they did. Now, here's the good news: over the course of this season we responded well after a loss. More good news is that we were a better road team in 2023-2024 (27-14) than Cleveland was at home (26-15).

Celtics were not prepared to play playoff level basketball.
Their defense was bad. When the other team scores on a runout after a missed FT, something is not right.
The 3 point shooting tail wagged the life out of the dog and then threw him under a moving train.
In an effort to keep my blood pressure low, I am going to pretend that we did not just lose our 2nd game at home during the playoffs and I am going to pretend that I really did not watch this game.
Somebody hit me up when we are back on track,

Dboss......at about half way thru the third, I knew they were not pulling off any miracles. I shut off my radio, turned the channel, and refused to even watch post game garbage. By the end of the game Perk must have been licking his chops to rip the crap out of them, so no ESPN either. Whatever it is that makes these guys do this, it is embarassing, all that talent and zero let's see what tomorrow brings. I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach right now

I'm with Rosalie on buying tix to watch that POC. I'd be livid as well. Especially if I was a kid and a huge Celtic fan. My oldest son cried when we saw Boston lose in Charlotte one time many years ago. Can't blame him.
I know you can't put any expectations on a contest as to who should/will win. But you at least hope for hundreds, now possibly thousands of dollars to see a game you get something better than that.
On to tomorrow. Better be 180 degrees difference. We hate these spots because we know the deeper we go in the playoffs, losing G2 and winning G3 gets less and less likely. Then we're back to MIA.
