10/28/09 Celtic Trivia Question?
In line with the parquet floor question from yesterday.
Name the company that constructed the floor (in 1946) from scapes of lumber due to the shortage of lumber after WWII?
Couple of bonus questions.
What kind of lumber was used?
And what was the aproximate cost to build it then?

Re: 10/28/09 Celtic Trivia Question?
Actually Pete the business that built the floor was located in (surprise) Boston. The lumber was from Tennesee and was the same type of lumber the Army used to build barracks for WWII thus the shortage and only the short scrap pieces were available for the floor and is why the parquet pattern was used.

It is meant to be tough!! I'd actually like to stump everyone but with things like google and the internet it borders on impossible to do that.
Tomorrows will be a bit easier, I promise.

the last two words are actually right.
____ ______ Lumber Company
And if you can figure out the spaces there are 4 and 6 letters in the blank spots.

Not counting the word the
With it, it would be
The ____ Boston Lumber Company
4 letters in the blank.
Any idea as to the type of wood or the cost?

Re: 10/28/09 Celtic Trivia Question?
beat,
No idea on the missing portion of the name, but, if the wood came from TN, there is a good chance it is hickory (although, some opposing teams probably thought it was bamboo due to the dead spots)

Close enough for the wood, my sourse says it was "red" oak.
What ever Red Oak is...........and I don't think it had to do with Aurebach.
Now can you come up with the original price of the floor. Within say $1500 dollars?
I've got 2 sourses with the same figure so it must be close.

beat,
Based on lumber prices, labor costs back then, I would say $7,500

Pete
45 is correct. But ther is one game in which he wore another number as his jersey came up missing.
If you have a Sam Vincent Hoops Basketball card from the following season it shows Jordan in the background wearing the other number (red Jersey) as it was an Orlando home game. I've got a few of those cards and they are worth a little (not that much)

if that doesnt work try this and scroll down to the card
