Rating the centers on scoring efficiency.
With the retirement of Shaq, I was wondering how he compared with other great centers based on scoring efficiency. A little research resulted in the below figures.
The below figures are based on the lifetime total points scored, divided by the total number of lifetime shots taken (lifetime field goals attempted plus lifetime free throws attempted). This results in a points per shot figure.
!st number after the name is pts per shot--2nd number is pts per 100 shots
Points per shot Points per 100 shots
1.Jabbar 1.02 102
2.Parish 0.99 99
3.O'neal 0.95 95
3.Garnett 0.95 95
5.Olajuwon 0.94 94
6.Robinson(David) 0.93 93
6.Ewing 0.93 93
8.Duncan 0.92 92
9.Malone(Moses) 0.90 90
9.Cowens 0.90 90
11.Bellamy 0.89 89
11.Chamberlain 0.89 89
13.Macauley 0.83 83
14.Mikan o.80 80
