? ON DRAFT
Do I understand it right that the players have not been locked out as of yet? I read an article where Ray Allen said that they do not have access to the
Waltham facility, and players will have to find a way of keeping in shape once July rolls around. He was quite disturbed about this subject.
Also, with the upcoming draft, is it possible for the Celtics to sign and trade any players (i.e. Big Baby), during the draft? What types of moves can be
made during this period before July 1? It is all rather puzzling to me.
I worry about this "lockout", of it dragging into the season and robbing us of the probable last year of basketball from KG especially. I wonder about Ray, if he will sign a much smaller contract to stay around next year. This contract problem is so disturbing.
Just a couple of questions I have been wondering about. What kind of moves can other teams make that are similar to the Celtics. Talk of the possible
trade of Kevin Love, why? Pau Gasol? last year he was the be all end all.
Any way, just a few questions I have for anyone to answer!

Rosalie,
The current CBA expires on 6/30 so it is business as usual until then.
Players can be traded and the draft will go on like any other year.
Boston could do a sign-and-trade for Davis, but I don't see that much interest in him from other teams.
With losing Shaq and Krstic and not knowing what they will get from JO, I think Boston will be forced to re-sign Davis.
There are a number of young, talented, European big men in this years draft, but they at times have to be viewed as 2-3 year projects.
If Boston doesn't want to or can't trade Rondo, KG, Pierce or Allen, Boston might have a hard tme improving just through the #25 pick and signing free agents.
The Minnesota/Lakers rumors are alive for a few reasons:
1) Supposedly, Minnesota thinks that Pau's game would be of benefit to the way Ricky Rubio plays.
2) It has also been rumored that Minnesota wants a fellow Spainard to mentor Rubio.
3) Minnesota is afraid that they won't be able to re-sign Love as he has not been overly thrilled about being on the team.
4) LA could use Love's toughness, rebounding and outside shooting.
5) LA can't be happy with the way Gasol played in the playoffs.
6) Trading Gasol gives them some payroll flexibility.
I could see the Lakers trading Gasol to Minnesota for Love, Johnny Flynn, Michael Beasley, Martell Webster and the #20 pick in Thursday's draft.
Don't know if Minnesota would do that.
It would have to be a 4 for 1 trade to match up salaries.
The Lakers are trying for Love and the #2 pick for Gasol but even David Kahn is not dumb enough to make that trade.

Re: ? ON DRAFT
Thanks -
That seems like a pretty lopsided trade to me, LA will definitely back stronger
than ever if they get Love. Beasley to me is still waiting to blossom, I wonder if he ever will. If he does, they will have hit the jackpot
