Champions!
Marcus's American Legion Baseball Team won the local league Championship last eve by a score of 4-1.
He reached first on a strickeout/passed ball and did score our first run. Team only had 2 hits but made the most of them with some timely baserunning and a couple of walks. Defense played extreemly well only one error that did not hurt us.
Marcus is second from the left.
couple of practice games for his other team over the next few days then a tournament in Cooperstown August 5,6,7, ( and probably a visit to the HOF )

A trip to Cooperstown because you won a Championship? Now that's gotta send goosebumps through you.
Congrats to Marcus, his teammates and Marcus' ever-supportive Dad.

Re: Champions!
Great news, Beat. Does it make those bruises seem more worth it?
Congratulations to Marcus.

Re: Champions!
Nice to win, sure beats the alternative.
Marcus made the final out on a simple pop up to first. And guess who has the ball?
Yep, he kept!

Re: Champions!
Outstanding job Marcus! Not bad for his dad either.
Beat, you must really, really be proud of both Marcus and Sarah. I can see that all the way from San Diego. You have definately done more than a few things right in raising your kids. I can really feel the excitement in your posts when you share their successes. I am always curious to read how Marcus is doing. Thanks for the update.

Re: Champions!
mrkleen and all
yes indeed there are some good players.....
The kid just to the left of the trophy is one to watch for. He will be a senior at a local HS this fall. I worked with hsi dad a bit. Kid made the USA team this summer and played quite well in it (think it was the U17 national team) He has a chance to really go somewhere with his talent. Plus his dad was selected as the coach of that team, dad tried out for the Olympic Baseball team 15-20 years ago, made it until the final cut so the kid has good baseball genes..........and above all that is a really nice kid! As are all these guys.
Name to watch for Santino Alteri ( Tino ) for short.
