NBA-TV with the C's
Couple evenings ago caught the end of game 4 from 1966 Cincy VS the C's. Cincy was up 2-1 and had the chance to close out the C's, (5 game series then in the first round) C's won 120-103.
Sorry I would have posted it here but game was nearly over when I stumbled on to it.
Next week they have the 1988 game 7 vs Atlanta, Bird vs Wilkins shootout, neat tuesday at 8PM. If you have never seen it or wan to watch 2 players go into the ZONE don't miss it.
Here is the link to the schedule.

I'll try to check it and let all know a few days ahead when an old C's game will be on.

Re: NBA-TV with the C's
Beat,
I'm quite sure that fourth game preceded the game I keep talking about (and showed part of at our first party at Allston Depot).
• I hold up that fifth game as one of the best representations of what the Russell Celtics were all about.
• In particular, it is a great example of the extra gear (perhaps two gears) they had, despite the toll the game pace took, when the chips were down.
• It's a pretty good example of what I call "volume basketball." Most of the possessions are non-stop fast breaks. Most of the shots are early in the shot clock. Push it. Push it. Push it. Rondo take note.
• The video shows most of the game, except for the great majority of the free throws, although it even shows Russ making freebies in the clutch.
• It's actually presented as a documentary, in which they "miked" Red Auerbach so you can actually hear some of his comments and ref rants during the action.
• It's presented in quasi-instructional format, using stop-action and slow mo replays to illustrate certain precepts that helped make those Celtics great.
• There's even one point at which the instruction points out how the Celtics are using a triangle offense. (No, not that triangle, but nonetheless a triangular pattern.)
• It's the video I watch if I want to get super-motivated to watch a big Celtics game today. The last few minutes of that video just knock me out every time.
• And the video is available to one and all just by contacting: EdAgwit@aol.com
I think it's called something like "The Final Game" (which is sort of a misnomer because it was the final game of a Division series in 1966 versus the Cincinnati Royals).
Hell, I think I'm going to watch it again right now.

I just watched the last portion once again. Not a dry eye in the house.
I think I'll watch it again.
