SAM-ALL BUTTONED DOWN?
I certainly hope you and your wife are safe and secure in your home in Wellfleet. Sounds like you are going to get slammed down there.
Stay safe and dry!

Re: SAM-ALL BUTTONED DOWN?
Hi guys. Thanks for the good wishes. I work at the local Chamber of Commerce; and we got an advisory this morning that predicted we'd get a lot of rain and some pretty high tides, with winds of 40-60 MPH tomorrow, reaching 80 MPH tomorrow night. Nothing much out of the ordinary. At 75 MPH, they close the bridges to and from the Cape; but, if that happens tomorrow night, no one will really care. We've got the cars gassed up; cash from the ATM; a a veritable fleet of gallon water bottles to flush the toilets with (eveyone has a well with a pump here); half a dozen flashlights; portable radio; extra bateries; plenty of beverages of all types; four croissants, a loaf of cranberry bread, and two quiches from the local boulangerie. We have our own beach, but we've tied down all the beach furniture. And the beach property is on the other side of the street; and we're about 100 feet above water level on our hill.
So we're pretty much ready to "rough it" for 24 hours, even if the power goes out. This is a good time of year for that to happen, because we don't need heat. We anticipate the main effects of the storm to occur tomorrow morning (when I'll be at work) and tomorrow afternoon. I believe I'll take a pillow to work, because I don't really expect a load of people dropping in to get maps to the beach. The only potential occurrence of not would be if we're called on to help police or firemen in some kind of emergency situation, and even the odds of that are low.
So let the foodfest begin. And all the best to you.

I hope you get through the storm very nicely.
