Bron to the NFL?
http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/miamiheat/post/_/id/9675/is-lebron-james-really-eyeing-the-nfl
So it appears the big nothing at least has the passing thought of becoming an NFL player. And he bitches about being "touched" in the NBA. Would love to see the big nothing go up for a pass and take a good clean hit ..... and not get up for a bit.
Reading some of the comments at the end is most entertaining

beat,
He'll be ok. It won't take long for coaches to realize he only plays 3 quarters and sit him.

All in fun of course, but it's a thought provoking idea.
James appears to have all the physical tools needed to make one incredible wideout and has at least some high school experience. That's certainly far from the NFL, but the guy is a physical freak.
I'd kind of like to see it...
With LeBron running a slant over the middle.
Getting the ball in front of a couple of Browns linebackers.
In Cleveland.
That, my friends, would be one sweet hit.

One good hit to his knee...and his NFL (and NBA) career would be over.
This guy is just enough of a clown to actually try it too. What a joker.

Little off the subject but I always felt that Dave Cowens would have made one heck of a linebacker. Certainly did not mind contact and was pretty quick for a 6-8 guy.........plus he was just a bit on the mean side to boot.
Mike Newlin agrees with me on this too.

Beat,
Good point.
With so many NFL teams going to a 3-4 defensive alignment a lot of former defensive ends, who more physically resemble someone like Cowens, are being converted to outside linebacker. Not unusual to see a tall guy who is quick but without blazing speed playing there. Someone like Cowens would be a good fit.

Re: Bron to the NFL?
Cowens probably would have been a Ted Hendricks type if he played linebacker in the pros. Lebron vs the Browns in Cleveland would take more hits than a Vegas Black Jack table-LOL-MD!

MD,
Ted Hendricks; "The Mad Stork"! One of my all-time fave LBs.
Loved watching him with the colts when I was a just a tot, but he also became a heckuva weakside linebacker when he switched away from strongside with the Raiders later in his career. That was one awesome defense Madden had back then.
You make a good comparison in terms of build with him and Cowens.

NY: Stork was a liitle crazier than Cowens, but I think Cowens had the better mean streak. The line backing corp for the Super Bowl V champion Baltimore Colts: Ted Hendricks, Ray May, and Mike Curtis (the original Mad Dog)
