NBA All Star World tour.
FROM the Denver Post....
Several of the biggest stars in the NBA — including Kobe Bryant, Amar'e Stoudemire and Kevin Durant — are finalizing a 10-day barnstorming tour across four continents.
As the 3 1/2-month NBA lockout drags on, threatening to soon eliminate the entire first month of the regular season, the league's most prominent players are scouring the globe for chances to earn income, market their brands and play the game.
The tour is set to start in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Oct. 30, and pushes onto London's O2 Arena (Nov. 1 and 3); Macau, China (Nov. 5); and Melbourne, Australia (Nov. 8 and 9).
Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Blake Griffin, Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce and Tyson Chandler have already signed contracts to participate, ESPN.com reported.
LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Carlos Boozer and Kevin Love are also strong possibilities to participate.
The top players will make "north of $1 million," plus expenses, for the tour, according to Yahoo Sports.
OK I have one question, are any if these guys under contract or does that not matter ( injury concern )?
Also last line that they will make "north of 1 Million", plus expenses........ so travel, meal, hotels, ect are Included? Or should it have read MINUS expenses? Just wondering. Are the players sponsors involved?
Lastly why not a tour around some of the financial strapped Cities in the US, NBA or not. Sell tickets at reasonable prices and they would draw OK I think. Oh well college hoops is not to far off.

Beat - these poor guys just want to make a "little" money, who can blame them? All this travelling around to LA, Vegas, NY, Washington, for meetings and parties has put a strain on their wallet.
Maybe they could learn from Delonte West????

Not as bad as when Latrell Spreewell claimed not being able to feed his family or like the NBA game Ewing tried to get going for THE PLAYERS that ended up being for charity when everyone dumped on him.
Not sure there will be any winners in this whole ordeal.
NBA as we have know it might never be the same and in some ways that might be a blessing.

Re: NBA All Star World tour.
After hearing the news this morning I wonder if we are ever going to see a season this year. Sounds to me like no one wants to bend, and there is alot of bad blood. The amounts of money they are talking about they are losing daily with no season.
I have a friend with season tickets, they are offering him 8% interest on the
money they are holding for games cancelled, he can take the money or keep it on account to spend later when (or if) there is a season. He had to start paying for his tickets last spring. They are no fools!
