Wishing The Best For Walton! Empty Wishing The Best For Walton!

I liked him (Walton) as far back as UCLA in the early-mid 70's. Just a shame injuries and travels with the Grateful Dead cut short his otherwise brilliant career. He had genius level basketball IQ. When he came to Boston in the Maxwell swap, he made it clear to the Chief that he didn't come to take his job, but help the C's to a title. Even after back treatments and surgery, he had to give up a sedentary job with ABC/ESPN. The red head must truly be in an unimaginable amount of agony. God Bless him, I hope he can find some measure of relief for his physical woes. Loved his bench contributions in '86 for Boston, and loved him sticking it to the Sixers in '77.-MD

Bill Walton was "The Big Fundamental" before Tim Duncan was "The Big Fundamental".

Loved watching him start for Portland and decimate Philly with his passing. Loved renting him. Can anybody think of a better backup center in the history of the NBA? I can't.

What's not to love about Bill? His passion for the purity of the game is unmatched.
As a fellow "DeadHead"--whenever Bill walked out on the court for the tip I always could see that "bubble thought" over his head..................................."You ain't so big,you just tall, that's just about all."
Healthy road ahead Bill.

He was one of the best passing centers to ever play the game. When he came to Boston, he was a joy to watch. That is what made that team so great. Again, a team that liked each other. Hopefully this is what will happen to our team this year with the addition of Wallace. He seems to like being here already.

Bill seems to have a damn good attitude. All these good vibes we send help. Least thats what I think.

He was a damn fine celt...if he was there we might have done it in87.
