REPORT: ALLEN TO HAVE SURGERY WEDNESDAY

According to a report from Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald, Ray Allen will have surgery to remove bone spurs from his right ankle on Wednesday morning at New England Baptist Hospital.

Allen, who missed 15 regular-season games as well as two playoff games with the injury, told the media after Saturday's Game 7 loss to Miami that he was looking to have surgery as quickly as possible.

“That’s my first priority, just going into surgery sometime,” Allen said. “If I could do it tomorrow, I would do it tomorrow. That’s probably my main concern right now, taking care of that."

Allen is a free agent, having just finished the final season of a two-year, $20 million contract. He struggled in the postseason, shooting 39.5 percent from the floor and 71.1 percent from the free-throw line in 18 games.
