EPORT: NO DRAFT PROMISE FROM C'S TO WHITE

According to a report from David Aldridge of NBA.com, the Celtics have not promised Iowa State forward Royce White that the team would select him with the first of their two first-round picks in Thursday's draft.

Chad Ford of ESPN wrote last week that the Celtics may have made such a promise to White, but a source told Aldridge that wasn't the case. The source also told Aldridge that the Celtics couldn't get White to workout for the club last week.

White's draft stock has been rising over the last week, though his anxiety disorders -- which include a fear of flying -- remain a concern. The 6-foot-8 White averaged 13.1 points and 9.2 rebounds for Iowa State last season.

The latest rumble about this is that not only did the Celtics NOT make a promise to Royce White, they couldn't even convince him to come in for a workout.

Doesn't look like it's going to matter, he's moving up in the draft, higher than #21. That's ok, that means someone good is going to be pushed down to #21.

Thursday can't come soon enough.

White may be a terrific prospect but do we really want a 49.8% free throw shooter on the C's after years of Rondo and Perkins struggling at the line costing us dearly? Even Dwight Howard shoots 60% and White's no Dwight Howard.
