Is there a chance that Sean Williams could possibly be a decent defensive back-up at the center spot. Below link seems to offer a glimmer of hope in this regard. Some answers should start coming in on monday. I'll be watching.

Where did you get the information that the Orlando games are closed to the public. That's a shame. Between the western league and the Orlando league, it would have been a pretty good opportunity to get a reasonably good read on some of these guys.

BobH says that Lue will coach the summer league team. I wonder if that includes both Vegas and Orlando. I bet Doc will at least be giving rapt attention in Florida.

They are closed to public attendance, but they will be aired on NBA TV and on "digital platforms".

Bummer for people who live in the Orlando area, not a big deal for most of us.

This, about Sean Williams:

“I just had a talk with him a second ago,” said Lue. “We’re not looking for him to score. We just want you to do what you’re going to do on this team next year — rebound, block shots, run the floor. He understood. Just do what you do.

“(Williams’ approach) was good going back into (last spring),” he said. “He really worked, stayed in great shape. When the strength coaches told him to do conditioning, he was able to do it. Being around professionals like Paul (Pierce), Ray and Kevin (Garnett) helped him out a lot. He’s not complaining now. He’s accepted that he has to be here. I think he’s great. He even came in four days early last week.

“Last year wasn’t a distraction to him at all, and this has been great. You can come in thinking I’m the oldest guy, and I should be doing this or that, but he hasn’t had that approach at all. He’s a phenomenal shot blocker, great rebounder, he can run the floor and show on pick-and-rolls. He has a lot of talent. For sure, he belongs in this league.”


Sean Williams has been working out with a conditioning coach? Maybe he put a few pounds on his 235# body? That'd be great. If he can get up to 240-245# he might even be able to play some center. We're losing Steamer, but we have Bird rights on Krstic and Wilcox is a possibility too. He didn't have a rep as a rebounder with NJ and Dallas, but that was then and this is now and he might be feeling like the window of opportunity is closing on him.
