The Back Up 2 Guard Quandry!
Folks:
Would it be a tragedy if the Celts didn't acquire Lee? Can't that need be filled between Moore & Dooling? Seems to me the answer needs to come in-house especially since Dooling is so motivated to shine in Green & White. Let's not forget Moore was Purdue's leading scorer his last year in the home state of Larry Bird wasn't he?

Do you really think Sully and Melo with KG is enough? Who else do we have in the middle?
Both are rooks and Sully might be able to spot there a little, Melo??? He will be on a learning curve for months.
As we saw last year you can NEVER have enough bigs, guards like lee are a dime a dozen in comparison. (at least IMHO)

No, it would not be a tragedy, but it would be another positive step in building a better team for now and the future.

No
Wilcox is a PT center at best not a true big. Spot there for a bit.
Again we need more in the middle than what we have. And until tomorrow we really don't know what will happen.

It might not be a tragedy if we don't get Lee, but we could use him about as much as a big right now.
We're pretty thin at guard too when you consider Bradley may next play in 2013. Right now it's Rondo, Terry and Moore.
If Bradley can come back to eventually look anything like last year a young backcourt of Rondo, Bradley, Lee and Moore looks fairly good going forward. In case Bradley is less than what he was Lee's strength is defense, which would be another plus.

We need both a big and a guard but I think we need a guard more.
Even if Steimsma leaves we still have Hollins and I like his size and strength at center and if Wilcox is heathy he can play some minutes.
I think you are looking at a 3 headed center with KG being backed up by Wilcox/Hollins and or Melo/Sullinger. Or some other combination of these guys. There are few options in the FA market or through a trade that will get us a good center.

Hi,
As I mentioned before, a backup center is priority #1. IMO.
If GS goes to Minni, Hollins is not a backup. At best, he's backup of a backup. Last season he's got the spot because Celtics didn't have anybody else. I hope DA finds somebody better for the upcoming season.
I doubt that Melo can be it. Wilcox - for 2-3 minutes here and there.
I hope they find someone. They did last year....
