WEEI

By: Kirk Minihane

According to a report from Darren Wolfson of ESPN, the Timberwolves expect to sign restricted free agent center Greg Stiemsma.

Stiemsma, who averaged 2.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 55 games with the Celtics as a rookie in 2011-12, visited with the Timberwolves at the start of the free-agency period. Wolfson reports that because the Celtics are over the salary cap they would be unable to match an offer made by Minnesota.

The Celtics extended a $1.05 million qualifying offer to Stiemsma on June 29. Reports have suggested the Timberwolves will offer Stiemsma a one-year, $3 million deal.

Works out well for Stiemsma. That buys a lot of bait for walleye fishing up there in the land of 10,000 lakes.

NYCelt:

Only thing about those lakes is that you can't do much else but ice fish since most stay frozen for the majority of the year. Remember the scenes in Grumpy & Grumpier Old Men?

Too bad but good luck to him.

Can we get Hollins back? Do we retain Williams? Does this enhance Fab's chance to play this year?

Please, isn't there someone out there???? Hollins just drove me nuts last year, I thought I read that he was signing with LA Clippers.

It seems that Sean Williams hasn't done much in the summer league to enhance his chances of getting invited to camp.

Exactly what I was thinking. For some reason (maybe his play) I just can't stand the way he plays. No rebounding and Perkins has more shots than he does. Williams, easy to see why he goes from team to team.
