The Celtics will make a few road trips this preseason to locations they are unaccustomed to visiting. Those spots include places as far away and romantic as Milan, Istanbul -- and Hartford, Conn. The Celtics announced Thursday that their preseason schedule will begin in Turkey, followed by a trip to Italy, as previously reported. That will be followed by a game against the New York Knicks at the XL Center in downtown Hartford before a road game against the Philadelphia 76ers in the more familiar confines of the Wells Fargo Center. Next up will be a home-and-home with the Brooklyn Nets, including the Celtics' first trip to the new Barclays Center. The Knicks will host another meeting, this one at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y., before the Celtics close their preseason schedule at the TD Garden against the Sixers. Tickets for preseason games go on sale Sept. 13.

WEEI

The Celtics released their preseason schedule of eight games, including stops in Turkey and Italy.

In addition to exhibition games against Instanbul's Fenerbahee Ulker (featuring Australian national team star David Andersen) and Milan's EA7 Emporio Armani Milano, the C's will play two games apiece against the Knicks, 76ers and Nets. All preseason games will be broadcast on WEEI 93.7 FM/850 AM.

Oct. 5: Celtics at Fenerbahce Ulker (Ulker Sports Arena, Istanbul, Turkey)
Oct. 7: Celtics at EA7 Emporio Armani Milano (Mediolanum Forum, Milan, Italy)
Oct. 13: Knicks at Celtics (XL Center, Hartford, Conn.)
Oct. 15: Celtics at 76ers (Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pa.)
Oct. 16: Nets at Celtics (TD Garden, Boston, Mass.)
Oct. 18: Celtics at Nets (Barclays Center, New York, N.Y.)
Oct. 20: Celtics at Knicks (Times Union Center, Albany, N.Y.)
Oct. 21: 76ers at Celtics, 7:30 p.m. (TD Garden, Boston, Mass.

I'll be at the game in Albany, with our youngest forum member Brandon. Hope I can get him to Boston for a regular season game this year too, the kid loves hoops and the Celtics.
