The Duck........loved those long arms and his defense, I believe he led the league (highest rebounding average as a guard) in rebounding a year or two. 2 rings could have been 3 if Hondo doesn't get hurt in 73.

I don't recall Birdsong..... him and Duck both played with Houston too

I was glad to see Don Chaney winning this by a large margin. He was such an asset. However, I have two other sentimental favorites as runnersup:

Togo Palazzi, another in a series of players from Holy Cross who made it to the Celtics roster. [Cousy, Heinsohn, Jack the Shot Foley]

Chris Herren, a Fall River basket ball star who suffered from serious drug abuse, only to recover and inspire others with a book, Basketball Junkie, and a documentary about his struggles.

I loved Chaney, great defensive ballplayer. Longest arms I ever saw!!
