With Three Little Words, Doc Gives Some Insight in the Immediate Future
For those who didn't see Doc's press conference after the Knicks' game, some member of the media mentioned Sullinger, and Doc's countenance exploded into smiles as he uttered those three little words that mean so much:
"He's goin' nowhere!!!!!"
Doc could have meant that Jared is tough to move under the basket. But I prefer to think Doc couldn't help himself as he announced to the world that Sully's not going to be traded.
The guy provides toughness no one else on the team can offer consistently. He exudes basketball smarts that are unbelievable, which is crucial to overcoming his physical shortcomings (no pun intended). And one (at least this one) believes that he's only scratching his potential.
Way to go, Sully. You are a true Celtic.

Sam,
Thanks. Good news if your assumption is true.
Now, I'd like to hear the same about AB.

Sam,this kid with his toughness and physical play reminds me A young Dave Cowens. He really like to bang under the basket and seems to me that he enjoy that kind of game.He doesnt have Cowens long distance shot ,but he is very intelligent and strong as a bull.

international he doesn't have Cowens jumping ability and athleticism, he does have an outside shot and an ability to finish inside similar to Cowens.

His game kind of reminds me of Al Horford. Similar players.

Iam talking about his toughness under the boards and the way he fight for position against player taller than him.He is a Warrior and is fearless like Cowens.

To no one in particular:
One other thing I like about Sully is that he seems to have a fire burning inside but doesn't display it in ways that can collect technicals and suspensions. Not comparing him with anyone in particular. I've always said you sometimes have to take the bad with the good. Apparently, that's an exception in Sully's case.
Go Sully!

One of the funnest things about being a Celtics/basketball fan is watching rookies come into the league and, as the case may be, overcome the obstacles. The influx of players on the Celtics this year, young-uns and young veterans alike, is a smorgasbord. Rondo, Bradley, Lee, Green, Bass, they're all still finding out what they're made of, and we really won't know until the playoffs.
Sully's a keeper and it's intriguing that his uncle foretold, when he was still a kid, that someday he'd be a Celtic. You have to wonder if his uncle was reacting to something about the way he played, even at a young age, what Russell calls the team game.
If anyone really likes looking up stats, it'd be interesting to see how Sully measures up to other rookies when it comes to fouls per minute played. Here's a guess: he's the Rodney Dangerfield of rookies - ' I tell ya I don't get no respect!'
