The Doc Rivers situation is starting to get old.

He is the highest paid coach in the NBA and he is not sure if he wants to go through a rebuilding process again.

Really!  Well maybe he should just leave then. I do not think he would be holding back unless DA has already shared his plans with Doc.  And Doc is apparently less concerend about the team and more concern about himself.  He knew that the plan was a 5 year plan (That overlapped into year 6) So he knew that Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and kevin garnett had shelf lives that would expire before his contract did.

Why didn't Danny boy let the Nets talk to him?  Then we would know if he is really loyal to the Celtics or not.

I think we need to let him walk and save some money and get a younger coach in here that is not concerend with rebuilding or retooling.  Besides i had questiosn about whether or not the players had menatality turned him off.  They did not play like a team that listened to their coach.

Maybe the future needs to involve separation fro both Garnett and Pierce and Doc Rivers.

Doc does not want to go through a rebuilding process (although the team has already begun to do that) and i do not want to see him coach a team that will never run up and down the court for him.

2008 is starting to fade fast so i am ready for whatever changes are to come.

I would not have a problem if danny left too.  He's a bum the last few years and has created a cap issue and held on to some players too long and gave too much money to average players.  He did not put together a roster that could compete and failed to begin the process sooner.

And doc did a terrible job coaching in the payoffs this year.

Agreed.

If a coach isn't committed to everything a team needs, then that coach doesn't need to be there.

this is a media issue, not a danny- doc issue.

Matty

I can smell the coffee brewing!

Now we are hearing reports that Doc and the Clipper have a mutual interest.

This is not a made up Media issue.

If Doc is certain that he is coming back to coach why hasn't he come out and said so?

I am certain that some fans would be highly upset if he did leave but not this Celtics fan.

My perspective is different.  The Celtics won 16 Championships with 5 different coaches.  Doc is # six on the list. Change is part of the game so change should be embraced.

I think if doc wants to leave he should leave and I think DA made a mistake by not allowing the Nets to talk to him.  If he wants to walk let him go and move on.  It is not like Doc Rivers is a GREAT coach.  He's a good coach but not a GREAT coach.

The funny but sad part is the fact that Boston-area media pundits act like they'll be on suicide watch if he in fact leaves.
