I can see this guy is going to give me similar palpitations Crawford does.  At least he isn't herky-jerky like Crawford, which is cosmetically disturbing to me, he's actually pretty smooth.  Pretty athletic, can create his own shot, sure as hell isn't afraid to take a shot.  He also looks like he dribbles high, like Tony Allen did, and his rep is that he plays no defense.  This video, however, has him making a couple of great weak-side blocks, a mid-court steal and some nice passes.  This is, of course, his highlight reel.  Nobody puts all the times his man blew past him, the out-of-control-poor-selection shots and generally brain-dead plays on a highlight reel.

His numbers/36mpg is pretty even for both of his first two years.  I consider this to be a positive, since his minutes dropped from 29.4mpg in 2011 to 12.5mpg in 2012.  His decline in minutes came with the arrival of Joe Johnson, so it's hard to place all the blame on him or the coach. Johnson is just a much better player. It's hard to go from starter minutes (or damn close to them), as a rookie, down to those of a barely rotation player without a drop in efficiency.  On average, he takes more fgas/36mpg than Crawford.  Considering his fg%, I'm not sure that's a good thing.  That's the bad news.  The good news is that his fg% is better than Crawford's.  His assist-to-TO ratio isn't as good as Crawford's.  Crawford also averages more assists/game than Brooks.  Basically, Brooks is a black hole, you throw the ball in and it usually only comes out towards the basket.  Good and bad.

Lastly, Brooks is 6'5", 200#, with a 7.1" wingspan.  Crawford is 6'4.5" (in shoes, of course), 200#, with a 6'7" wingspan.

Now, Brad Stevens etal need to convince Brooks to use his wingspan for more than just shooting over his man and dunking.

It will be an interesting battle in camp to watch.  No team is complete without at least one conscienceless gunner.  We now have two.  IMO, that's one too many.
