MY NOTE:  I love KG to death, but if that's where he's at in his career, then there was no way that we'd have a shot at a championship if he was still here.  We'd need another GOOD center to fill that hole, in addition to the minimum one and more likely 2 more players we needed anyway.  Would I have loved to have had KG around to teach KO, another year with Sully?  Absolutely, but in the bigger picture it was time.  Buy low, sell high, and KG's value would never be as high again as what Danny was able to get for him from Brooklyn.

The Nets have the luxury to do this since they already have a starting center in Lopez and a player in Blatche that can move up to the starting position when KG sits out.

As has been well documented under the draft picks thread, the value of the trade may take years to be fully realized.
