FIVE MORE DAYS TO WIN CELTS MEMORABILIA AND HELP CURE CANCER IN CHILDREN
Through Sam's Celtics Forum, you have a great chance to WIN CELTICS MEMORABILIA while doing something really nice during the holiday season.
Just make a contribution of any size to our new affiliate, The Jimmy Fund (the charitable arm of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, which fights cancer in children). Do it within the next five days to become eligible for our January 1 drawing for Celtics memorabilia.
The prizes are still being received, but those already in hand include:
• An NBA basketball autographed by Max—that's right, Cedric Maxwell of radio fame and arguably the most underrated Celtics playoff contributor ever
• A copy of the brand new Jackie MacMullan book, "When the World Was Ours," about the relationship between Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, and autographed by Jackie
• A copy of the wonderful book, "Red & Me," by Bill Russell
Only Sam's Celtics Forum subscribers will be eligible for the drawing, so your chance of winning some Celtics memorabilia is excellent. Even if you can contribute only five dollars, you name will be entered for the drawing. We're going to work it sort of like the basketball draft lottery, with the chances of winning increasing with the size of one's donation. However, we've already received word from larger donors that they'd prefer to be excluded from the drawing so others can have a better chance. (There are really great people on this forum.)
To contribute, just write a check to "The Jimmy Fund" and mail it to: Sam's Celtics Forum; P.O. Box 758; Wellfleet, MA 02667. Be sure to write your board name on the check for purposes of identification during the drawing.
In case you don't know about the legendary Jimmy Fund, it was established in 1947 as the charitable arm of The Dana Farber Cancer Institute, which now fights cancer in both children and adults. We don't have up-to-date stats; but, by 1988, Dana Farber was already curing two-thirds of its cancer patients, and it's at the pinnacle of cancer research. You may know of the long-time connection between The Jimmy Fund and the Boston Red Sox. And now we're adding a Celtics connection.
Please open your hearts and contribute anything you can. We'd love to let the Dana Farber patients know that 100% of Sam's Celtics Forum is supporting their valiant fight during this holiday season.
Thank you so much, and Happy Holidays to you and yours,
Sam

PRIZES PRIZES PRIZES
In addition to the NBA ball signed by Max, the Jackie MacMullan book, and the "Red and Me" book, the Celtics Dancers are now sending us another autographed ball and some autographed Celtics pictures to be used as prizes in the drawing to be held among contributors. (We don't know which Celtics will be doing the autographing, but the surprise will be part of the fun.) Since some contributors have already said they'd prefer that others would win the prizes, your chances of winning something are increasing by the day. All you have to do is contribute and, at the same time, hopefully make some child's embattled life a little less challenging.
Checks for any amount can still be made payable to The Jimmy Fund and mailed to Sam's Celtics Forum; P.O. Box 758; Wellfleet, MA 02667.
Thanks a lot,
Sam
