Is there a snowball's chance Larry Bird will...
I know with all the Celtics have going for them this season to keep our interests, it doesn't leave time to watch or follow other teams in the league, but you have to admire what Larry Bird has put together in Indiana. They are beating the crap out of Houston right now. (I'm on delay but currently in the 4th quarter with 6 minutes left.)
Is there any chance in the world at any time in the future he will return to Boston in a GM role after Danny is done or have too many bridges been burnt? Just curious.

So wait....DA has taken this team from 2 decades of losing and brought us a winning attitude and a banner. Larry Bird has built a team that has won ANYTHING, and you want to trade one for the other?
Love Larry - but that makes no sense.

No. He's a Hoosier, he can do anything he wants in Indiana. In Boston, he'd be just one in a pantheon of Gods. In Indiana, he is God.
Furthermore, I agree with MrKleen. As of today none of Larry's teams have won a championship. I'll grant you, watching the game last night, they looked awful freaking good, their ball movement and defensive rotations were textbook beautiful and the 3s were dropping, but this is just the "first" season and the championship is won in the "second" season, the playoffs. When Larry's team wins one, then he's Danny's peer as a GM. We should also compare how long Larry has been at it vs Danny. They've both been at it, being GM, about the same number of years and Danny has a ring and Larry hasn't. Danny's done a damn good job. He took us from NBA doormat to #17 in the 5 years he predicted, he has prepped us to transition/rebuild with at least 4 good proven core players (Sully, Green, Rondo, Bradley) and maybe more (Kelly and Vitor becoming key rotation players), has over $20M of contracts expiring this year and a $10M trade exception which may translate into opportunities and has 9 unprotected first-round picks over the next 5 years jingling in his pocket. He is richer today than he was in 2007 when he pulled the Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett coups.
And this is only 1/3 of Year One of the Transition.

That all makes sense. I wasn't looking to swap, just if Danny had enough, who would be in the running. LB seemed like a likely candidate.
