The Boston Celtics trade with the Memphis Grizzlies has expanded to include the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to a league source.
ESPN.com first reported the inclusion of the Thunder in the trade that was initially structured to only include the Celtics and the Grizzlies.
As it stands now, the Celtics will send Courtney Lee to Memphis and will receive Grizzlies guard Jerryd Bayless. The Thunder will ship former Celtic Ryan Gomes back to Boston where it is unclear if the Celtics will waive him.
Like many teams, the Thunder are also looking for ways to get just a bit further removed from being a luxury tax-paying squad.
Prior to agreeing to the three-team deal, the Thunder were about $1 million below the luxury tax threshold line of $71.7 million.
Gomes signed a one-year, $1.19 million contract in July with the Thunder which has a salary cap hit amount of $884,293.
There will be additional pieces added to make the deal work, but the central figures in the trade, Lee and Bayless, remain the same.
A conference call with the league office is expected to be made on Tuesday. Depending on how quickly it becomes finalized, there's a chance that Bayless will officially be a Boston Celtic prior to their game against Denver at 9 p.m.

Word is that the Celtics will also send a 2nd round 2016 pick to an as yet unidentified team.
