update on Pearl

She has a lampshade on her head. She is doped, sore, stitched and confused. But she is home and she will be fine. Merry christmas all.

Geez I hope that Pearl is your dog and not your wife....but either way, Merry X-mas back to you and Pearl and I hope she feels better soon.

my beloved dog. bitten badly bya pit at the dog park today. she is ok.

I've been there. Assume the lampshade is so she can't get at the wounds. There's very little as pitiful as an animal in that kind of distress because the bite is bad enough and the animal doesn't understand why she's being put through additional misery of the treatment. But somehow the fact that you're there as a calming influence will hopefully help Pearl to get through it with a minimum of trauma. Please give her a pat for me.

With patting and reassurance, you'll wind up with even a stronger bond than you already have. And don't forget to give HER a pat once in a while too. (Sorry, just couldn't resist.)

Oh the lampshade thing! Hope she gets better quickly.

The poor puppy, I hate seeing dogs wearing those lampshades. It drives them crazy!! Give her alot of love this weekend and she will be your friend forever!

Have to reach under the lampshade but will do. She is quite resilient...already back to bouncin around.

"already back to boucin around" - wow - THAT was fast ! really terrific !! Pearl might be pretty young, eh?

how long does the danged lampshade need to stay on? if i remember, it's somewhat longer than when the stitches come out ... takes a while. hate to see dogs (and cats, whoever) have to go through that ... but you're there to help her along, is good.
