Lakers: Artest fell down stairs at home

Los Angeles Lakers forward Ron Artest will likely miss Saturday's game against the Sacramento Kings after suffering injuries to his head and left elbow.

In a release Saturday, the Lakers said Artest tripped over a box at his home **(after drinking a 5th of Hennessy Cognac) and fell down a flight of stairs. He was taken to the UCLA Medical Center, where he underwent several tests, including a CT scan.

The team reported he received stitches to both the back of his head and to his left elbow.

Artest did not travel to Sacramento with the Lakers. He was to be examined later Saturday by a neurologist, and the Lakers said that should allow for a timetable as to when he'll rejoin the team.

This is a strange story. I wonder how big the box was. Was it as big as Shaq and he just tripped over it. Was the box outside the painted area? Artest is a very good defender and I am wondering why he did not box out.

I am going to see if we can locate some more information about this. An interview with Ron would really be nice.

With Artest nothing is strange. He was a weird kind of guy while playing College Ball for St. John's.

Maybe the Lakers can call Trevor Ariza to see if he's busy.

Just another example of an attention starved child needing yet more attention,so glad LA has this problem child.This team would have been so much better with Ariza,even their own fans think its okay to trash them.
