130 points.  But, oh yeah, they weren't athletes who could shoot and score back then.

Not only couldn't they shoot and score then but no one could defend either.

And those who compiled box scores couldn't keep track of minutes played because clocks hadn't been invented yet. I mean how did Sweet Lou Hudson score only 6 points when his team ran up 130?

But I'm sure Dayton Alum High Henry Finkel is rooting for the Dayton Flyers.

Is Finkel in the Dayton HOF?

"Fink" (as Coach Heinsohn called him (at least at practice), was one of the harder triers on that team.  In that respect, he was a little like Scal, except that Scal had great knowledge of the game while "Fink" was marginal in terms of both the physical and mental aspects of basketball.

I have a basketball card of High Henry sans moustache.  I think it was from the time when he played for the San Diego Rockets.

Hank played for LA and San Diego before coming to Boston as an ostensible replacement for Bill Russell.

According to NBA reference he once dropped 41 points and then followed that up the next game with 35 as a Rocket in a home-and-home against his ex-Lakers team .

As Yogi Bera said, "You can look it up."

Glad to see Finkel in the Dayton HOF.  Besides him the only other guy I've heard of is Don May.  I think he played for the Knicks before being taken in the expansion draft by the Buffalo Braves.  I see that their Dayton careers overlapped by a couple of years. The Hank and Don era.

The dream ended for Dayton tonight but the legend of Hank and Don live on.

Following Yogi Bera's advice, I looked it up. Betcha no one knew that Don May had a 20 ppg season with the Braves, while shooting 47%--not too shabby a FG percentage even for this era-- and snagging 7 rebs ppg, not bad for a 6'4" small forward.

Thanks Swish. I never saw Roger Brown play but he's something of a legend. Didn't he and Mel Daniels rule the ABA? Never knew he played at Dayton. Ditto for Johnny Davis and Jim Paxson.

I've heard of Bucky Bockhorn only because Bill Simmons voted his name as the whitest in NBA history.

Above is a list of ABA players in the HOF.

Your right about Brown and Daniels being elite players. Both are in the above list of  ABA players in the HOF.

Interesting list. Roger Brown and Mel Daniels are the only ones who played their entire careers in the ABA. Though Daniels, I see, did play 11 games with the Knicks his last year in pro ball. He also played a year in Italy.
