Jalen Rose, Bill Simmons Video

Just sitting around and throwing around some stuff. What I thought was interesting was what they had to say about Hibbert, what his game would do to a team's style and how he compares to Robin Lopez. Also, Rose talks about the dark side of stats; why steals and blocks aren't necessarily a good thing.

The downside is you have to listen to Bill Simmons drool, repeatedly over trading Rondo to OKC for Westbrook. Nothing's free.

I used to like Simmons a lot, very possibly because he is such an unabashed Celtics fan. But, his green blood notwithstanding, I believe his increasing exposure to the public is making him a little full of himself. I have no facts and figures, but I believe someone like Adrian Wojo is right a lot more of the time than Simmons is.

Interesting comment by Larry (in the news clips following the video) that anything they do will have to be by trade. I believe he was contrasting trading only with free agency, thus leaving the draft out of the question. But their low draft pick could very well give them a "trade only" mindset. I happen to agree with him. I think the signing of high-priced free agents usually results in problems of one type or another. Signing of lesser-price complementary players can be a different story.
