If he is going to be Boston's 3rd pg, then yes guarantee his contract.
Teams need 3pg's on the roster.

I agree with needing three floor generals.  And I tend not to count alleged combo guards.

According to Steve Bulpett, the Celtics are going to keep Phil.

Technically that could change in the next hour-and-a-half, but it's looking good for Phil as we approach midnight.

I look for the Celtics to be sort of irrelevant over the next 2 or 3 years and I hope that the roster spots will be used by players with more upside then Pressey.

Celtics have picked up Pressey's contract for this coming year. I am very pleasd about this, the kid works hard

Nice young guy getting some NBA time; good story and good for him.

Won't hurt us to give him a spot at this stage in our roster development either, plus he comes cheap.

Reminds me of JR Bremer, who played for us for a couple of seasons in the early 2000's. Not so much his game per se, as how he arrived and where he's likely to go from here. My understanding is Bremer used his short NBA time to springboard to some lucrative years in Europe. I think he's still playing over there. Maybe Pressey can accomplish something similar.

Keeping Phil is a win.

He knows the system, he's a known factor, and he's on the cheap.

Phil definitely has the game to ignite a team.  I hope he can refine other parts of his game to offer more of a complete package.
