Good investigative reporting, International.  I have just one question.  Why couldn't Kelly crack the starting lineup of that team?  Strange.  As always in such situations, I'll be glad when he gets through the experience without injury.

They started with a fast and small team with 6-8 Dwight Powell at center against a tall team of Ukraine.Maybe they were trying to run against a slow team.
Gyso.Corey Joseph and Kris Joseph are cousins.
In the first game of the Excibition series Olynyk scored 10 points against Slovenia.

International,

Thanks for clarifying the height versus speed situation.  You sound as though you should be coaching the Canadian team.  Then you could become a cousin of syso and the Joesph boys too.

Did you know that Steve Nash is the arquitect of the new program of Canada Basketball?He is doing a great job and they have national teams in every category in international basketball.This team that's playing in Europe are going to play 11 games and has a roster of NBA players like....Olynyk,Andrew Nickolson,Corey Joseph,Robert Sacre,Tristan Thompson and Dwight Powell.Other notables Canadian players that are on the national team program are...Andrew Wiggins,Anthony Bennett,Joel Anthony,and Samuel Dalembert.I wonder why Bennett is not playing in this series in Europe,He could use some games to get experience and be in better shape.

Good for Kelly. He really wanted to play for Canada last year but had plantar fasciitis and had to take the summer off.

This is for the first game, vs Ukraine. Team Canada won, 80-75 in OT. Kelly with 18 points and 8 boards. That's a pretty central role in a game where you only score 80.

You are correct,but I have to remind you that international basketball games are 40 minutes not 48 like NBA.Sometimes 80 points is normal.They played 3 games in 3 days ,that should be great training for Olynyk.Team Canada will play 11 games in Europe.

You'd think I would have remembered the games are 40 minutes considering all that time (hours!) I spent pre-draft watching/scouting game film of  Porzingis, Saric, Nurkic and Tavares.  

Sucks getting old.

18 points over the span of a 40 minute game is pretty good. Heck, even in a 48 minute game that's good.

Kelly appears to be getting more comfortable each day and hasn't regressed since the season ended. Here's to hoping that comfort continues into the 2014-15 NBA season. Wouldn't it be awesome if he became the next reliable perimeter threat?
