As a die-hard Celtics fan, you know quite a bit about our players. You know that Rajon Rondo is a four-time All-Star. You know that Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk were Rising Stars last year. But what about the information you don’t know?

We’ve dug into the roster and pulled five little-known facts about nearly the entire team, including Brad Stevens. We’ll highlight those facts during this series, which ends today with information on Avery Bradley, Sullinger, James Young, Joel Anthony and Tyler Zeller. Their facts are below.


Avery Bradley
Bradley, Boston's starting shooting guard, re-signed with the team this summer and will be in a Celtics uniform for the foreseeable future. Here are his five fun facts:

Bradley grew up in a military family. His father, Avery Bradley Sr., served in the military for more than 20 years.
A native of Tacoma, Wash., Bradley transferred to Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev. for his senior season of high school ball and led his team to a 33-0 record.
Moved back to his home town of Tacoma, Wash. in 2004, the summer before he entered eighth grade, after his family spent three years in Arlington, Texas.
Scored 18 points in a single quarter against the Nets on March 21, 2014 in Brooklyn.
Has started in 142 of the last 145 games he has appeared in.


Jared Sullinger
The Celtics have struck gold on multiple occasions (including Bradley) by drafting players who were top-flight recruits coming out of high school but who saw their stock drop off heading into Draft night. Sullinger, who led the Celtics in rebounding and finished third on the team in scoring last season, is one of them. Here are his five fun facts:

Played for his father, Satch, as a high school athlete at Northland High School in Columbus, Ohio.
His brother J.J. plays professionally overseas and also played at Ohio State.
Was a two-time Ohio Associated Press Mr. Basketball winner. He is one of only five players in state history to win the award multiple times.
Was chosen as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week award winner for the week of Jan. 3-9, 2014.
Tied Kelly Olynyk for the most charges taken by a Celtics player last season with 10.


James Young
The Celtics are high on Young, who was chosen with the 17th overall pick in this year's Draft. He was Kentucky's best player as the Wildcats made a fun to the national championship game this past season. Here are his five fun facts:

More than half of his field goal attempts last season at Kentucky – 52.2 percent, to be exact – were 3-pointers.
Played in both the McDonald’s High School All-American game and the Jordan Brand Classic game after his senior year of high school.
Doesn’t turn 19 until Aug. 16, 2014.
Averaged 27.2 points per game, 16.0 rebounds per game and 5.7 assists per game as a senior in high school.
Was selected to the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament team after averaging 18.5 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game over Kentucky’s final two games.


Joel Anthony
Anthony joined the Celtics in mid-January of this past season. He has a quiet demeanor and played sparingly, so Celtics fans don't know a whole lot about him. Until now, that is. Here are his five fun facts:

First name is pronounced “Jo-elle,” rather than your typical “Joel,” and his nickname is “Doc.”
Attained his degree in university studies, with a concentration in sociology and physical education, in December of 2006 from UNLV.
Wears size 17 sneakers
Played for the Canadian Senior National Team in 2006 and from 2008-12.
Graduated from UNLV, but began his collegiate education and basketball career at Pensacola Junior College in Pensacola, Fla.


Tyler Zeller
Zeller joins the Celtics this season after playing his first two seasons in Cleveland. Like Sullinger and Olynyk, he, too, has played in the NBA's Rising Stars game. Here are his five fun facts:

Wears size 18 shoes.
Zeller’s uncle, Al Eberhard, played for the Pistons, his younger brother, Cody, plays for the Hornets, and his older brother, Luke, played for the Phoenix Suns in 2012-13.
Favorite television show is Duck Dynasty and favorite movie is Avatar.
Was born on Jan. 17, 1990, and was raised in Indiana.
Was selected to the NBA’s 2012-13 All-Rookie Second Team after ranking either first or second among rookies (minimum of 70 games) in offensive rebounds per game, defensive rebounds per game, total rebounds per game and blocks per game.
