Of the four major Boston sports teams, two have yielded what I would call lifetime ambassadors. Johnny Pesky of the Red Sox and Tom Heinsohn of the Celtics. Both worked in many capacities, from player to manager/coach, for the teams; both worked in broadcasting; and both have arguably been identified much longer with their teams than any other players. RIP Johnny, and a long, happy life to Tommy.
