Danny knows what he is doing.... it was never about last year, the year or perhaps even next year.

It's about getting #18 and beyond.

It'll be ok..... remember Sgt oddball- no negative energy!!!!

Go celtics!!!

Yeah Matty!  The Rooter is back!

This is year 1.4 of a  3-5 year rebuild.  We aren't even at the halfway mark of the earliest reasonable window of being back in contention.  We've known it was going to be 3-5 years all along, from the day we heard Pierce and KG were gone, these are just turning into dog years after those years of winning.

If Danny had landed Love last summer things would be different now but Paul Taylor, owner of the T-Wolves, was leery of getting fleeced by Danny again and, to be fair, Wiggins was a better prize.

If Danny had convinced Daryl Morey, GM of Houston and former disciple of Danny's in Boston, to send Asik this way things would be different now but Morey decided to trade Asik to NOP for a bag o' donuts.

If Danny has had a problem it is that his reputation as someone who knows horse flesh as well as anybody has preceded him and the two people above know that first hand.

Green and Bass will be gone soon, freeing up minutes for Young, Crowdah and Kelly's development.

By shipping Wright to Phoenix for a draft pick Danny has also freed up a roster slot.  We are now at 14.

And the trading deadline is still 7 weeks away. Strap yourselves in, or slip your arms through the sleeves and the nice young man in the white coat will strap them in from behind, whatever needs to be done to keep you from hurting yourself. If there is one thing Danny Ainge does NOT suffer from it is indecision.

By the time the trading deadline arrives, we will still only be less than 2 years in but, if Green is gone, we will have money to play with this summer. I don't have a problem with Green, what he is getting paid or with his staying here in Boston but if he is not part of our future then his salary is getting in the way of it.

BobH,

I'm not sure how much money will mean at that point.

Love your optimism Bob, but you don't really think teams are hesitant to trade with Danny because they think is so much shrewder than them do you?

Shamrock,

I think those two might.  It was widely reported this summer that Paul Taylor was gunshy dealing with Danny after dealing KG to Boston and we won  a title with his guy.

I cannot explain Morey but he knows Danny really well and saw him pull off some steals when he worked for him in Boston.

It was the inability to make either of those "fireworks" deals that Wyc promised that put the wheels in motion for where we are today.

Wow Bob, interesting. If that is true, then Taylor should not be running a team. To be fair, personally I would never do any sort of deal with Danny - I know my limitations... Very Happy

They'll deal with Danny if they get players for picks but not if they must surrender really good players for picks. They know Danny isn't dealing from a position of strength.

Shamrock,

Paul Taylor doesn't run the team, he owns it.  BIG difference.

I feel that Danny conceded his strength.
