not sure if the Robinson deal is somehow working into the Rivers trade to the Clippers or not, but Robinson is on the last year of a deal that pays him $2.1M (Rivers is $2.4M).

Trading away better players for inferior ones and buying out contracts... Teams trying to make it to the playoffs don't do that.

So the Clips are trying to add two combo guards, one on his way out and the other who may never really get "in?"

Is it possible Danny could package Prince, Robinson and Rivers in trade for a top 29 protected, conditional, now you see it and now you don't #1 pick in the year 2029? Because we're really low on #1 picks.

We traded a player that wasn't going to get minutes but who had a player option next year (which he was likely to exercise) for another player who isn't going to get minutes either (perhaps because he'll get bought out) who is in his final contract year (so either way he's gone, while maybe Nelson wouldn't be) and saved $2.5 million on the deal.

Danny saved money, traded nothing for nothing but guaranteed $2.8M would NOT be on the books next year.

It isn't a straight-line, but I'm ok with it.

KJ

what playoff team you talking about?

even the most optimistic Celtic fan at the beginning of this season, saw thus years team as a 35 win or so team.

Ainge gave a Rondo and Green lead team a chance and we all saw the results.

now it's all about clearing salary's to have real cap space starting next year, IMO.

we'll now be a about $41M WITH the two first round picks next year on the books (without any holds, that CAN be renounced).

that would be about $24M UNDER the salary cap next year.
