My FIRE CRACKER off-season guess.
no fireworks here this time, but just another good year of adding talent and skill as the Celtics shoot for a 50 win season and the Atlantic division crown next season:
draft first.
Danny ends up standing pat and letting this years draft come to him.
16. Bobby Portis 6-10 (Ark)
28. Dakari Johnson 7-0 (Ken)
33. Anthony Brown 6-7 (Stanford)
45. Euro draft and stash
Start of New NBA year:
Danny renounces all holds including rights to Bass , Jerebko and Datome to get BELOW the cap by about $22M.
then he makes the following moves:
Signs K. Koufas- Mem as an UFA for a 4 yr/ $28M deal ( first year salary $6M)
Makes RFA offer to K,. Middleton (Mil) 4yr/ $44M ( $10M first year salary)
Offers Crowder 4yr/ $26M deal and/or match any deal less than $6M first year
Roster going into camp:
Zeller
Koufas
D. Johnson
Sullinger
Olynyk
Portis
Middleton
Crowder
Wallace
Turner
Bradley
Smart
Thomas
Young
Pressey
Brown
good chance Wallace gets either bought out or moved/retired with this roster IF Brown plays his way on the team. No stars, but isn't that just like one of Stevens Butler teams?

Very unlikely Wallace will retire with a great payday in his immediate future.

kdp,
Certainly as good a prediction as any. I do agree with Sam in that Wallace is not going to retire, but he could get 'stretched' to save some cap space. His 'stretch' savings may get Zerebko re-signed.
Not sure that Crowder is worth up to 6 M yet, but I can see something for a few years at 4 per season. I guess that the Cs will take another year to look at Young, and if they do, I certainly hope that they find more in him than he had this season.
