Hashem Thabeet to the D-League
If that isn't the most amazing descent for a player I've ever heard of. He was the #2 pick in the draft this past year after Blake Griffin!
Who's the idiot GM that drafted him? Oh yeah, now I remember, the same idiot who traded Gasol to the Lakers for a bunch of spare parts and a bag of nails.
Courtesy Hoopsworld:
More Thabeet: Marc Stein of ESPN is reporting the Memphis Grizzlies are going to send center Hasheem Thabeet – the second overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft – down to the D-League for a little bit of seasoning.
We talked a bit about the struggles of Thabeet yesterday with his being supplanted in the rotation by Hamed Haddadi, but the Grizzlies think a little bit of regular playing time with the Dakota Wizards could be just what the doctor ordered. Thabeet is average 2.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.12 blocks this season.
Thabeet will also get the not-so-illustrious honor of being the highest-drafted player to be sent down to the D-League, taking the crown from Portland's Martell Webster. Webster was the sixth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft and played eight games for the now-defunct Fort Worth Flyers during his rookie season.

Most franchises can wait a generation without getting a top 3 pick. This idiot wastes it on a player that EVERYBODY KNEW was a project.
