Knicks Tried To Negotiate With Maurice Ndour After His Agreement With Mavs

The New York Knicks attempted to negotiate with Maurice Ndour even after he reached a verbal agreement to sign with the Dallas Mavericks.
Dallas offered the undrafted Ohio University forward a fully guaranteed deal for more than the $600,000 rookie free-agent minimum, with a second year partially guaranteed.
The Knicks offered Ndour less than a $200,000 guarantee.
Ndour had an impressive Summer League with the Knicks.

MY NOTE: NDour DID have a very impressive summer league. Ever the class act, Phil, ever the class act. Did you really think he would take less than 1/3 of the money just for the indescribable honor of playing in the triangle? This continuing effort by a team who had a player first and is trying to pull him back is collateral damage done by DeAndre Jordan, except this time it's management that's showing its lack of class.

Phil is definitely overdue to pull off some gigundo deal because, so far, he has looked more the part of a buffoon than a glorified gm. Good thing you don't have to coach too, Phil. No one could ever be expected to acquire great players AND simultaneously manage them to slews of championships, right? To say nothing of the added burden that would be imposed by assuming the responsibilities of ancillary jobs such as traveling secretary, defensive coach, offensive coach, arranging practice logistics, etc., etc., etc.
