The dog days of the NBA calendar are upon us. With training camp still a few weeks away and the best days of free agency behind us, there’s just not a lot going on in the NBA world right now. But with all this time to digest information, what have we learned about each team heading into the 2015-16 season?

With so many draft selections, trades and free agency signings, it’s hard to keep track of where every team stands amidst a flurry of offseason transactions. Luckily, we at HoopsHabit have been diligently tracking it all with in-depth offseason grades for each and every team in the association.

Yesterday, we officially finished our long, 30-team trek through an entire summer of signings and re-signings, handing out grades for every individual move along with a final grade for each organization’s offseason as a whole.

Where does your team stack up? Who had the best offseason and who had the worst? Which individual moves were among the summer’s best and which left us scratching out heads? To help put the upcoming season in context, here’s a look at every team’s comprehensive offseason grades for your browsing pleasure.

MY NOTE:  I have NO idea how he came up with these grades.  The Celtics get a B- when they got a couple of new, quality players in Amir, Lee and PJ3 as well as some very promising draftees and Brooklyn is right behind them with a C+?  Huh?  WTF did they do that is even close to what Danny did?  Because they didn't lose anybody (besides Deron Williams, which may or may not be good since they don't have a replacement)?  They were in 8th place last year in the EC and they have no improvements to show during the off-season, which means they probably don't make the playoffs this year (and we own their pick, so they don't even get that out of a horrid year) and they got a C+ to our B-?!

Toronto gets a B+ because they lost Amir but gained DeMarre Carroll?

Miami got an A?  Did I miss something?  Does this author really think Justice Winslow is going to make them more than a marginal playoff team?

Sacto gets a D.  They add Koufos, Willie Cauley-Stein, Rondo and Bellinelli and they get a D.

Times, they are slow, here in the dog days of summer.  Only 30 days or so until camp and maybe 15 days before the regular beat writers are back from their summer hiatus.

Yawn.
Every sports website has or will put out their own grades.
Hoops habit is not exactly a prominent basketball website.
I agree. In general, many of these grades make no sense.

NBA: Complete Offseason Grades For All 30 Teams Empty Re: NBA: Complete Offseason Grades For All 30 Teams

I have been working on my own off-season grades for this year and have finished the East now. I figure this is as good a spot as any to put them.

My 2015 off-season grades:
East by 2014 standings.

Atlanta:
Lost----------------------Added-------------Plus/minus
P. Antic --------------W. Tavares-----------Wash/Minus
E. Brand---------------T. Splitter-------------Plus
D. Carroll-------------T. Hardaway----------Minus
J. Jenkins-------------J. Holiday-------------plus/wash
Overall the Hawks have done little to change the teams outlook from last year, though it’s hard to see them match last year’s win total. I see them as the second or third best team in the East

Cleveland:
Lost-----------------------Added--------------Plus/Minus
T.Thompson------------T. Thompson---------not signed yet, but controlled by Cleveland
S. Marion---------------R. Jefferson----------Wash
M. Miller----------------M. Williams----------Plus
K. Perkins & B. Haywood------None--------Plus (neither provided anything last year to the Cavs)
Cavaliers still need to get Thompson signed and find another vet Center for deep depth, but they should be the top team in the East this year barring injury.

Chicago:
Lost-------------------------Added-----------------Plus/minus
N. Mohammed-----------B. Portis---------------Wash (plus for youth)
Bulls have same team but new Coach. Will Hoiberg be better than Thibodeau? That will be the tell on how good this team will be. Somewhere between 2nd and 5th in the East is my guess today.

Toronto:
Lost------------------------Added--------------------Plus/Minus
G. Stiemsma------------B. Biyombo--------------Plus
A. Johnson---------------L. Scola-----------------Minus
L. Fields-------------------D. Carroll--------------PLUS
L. Williams---------------C. Joseph--------------Minus
G. Vasquez--------------D. Wright--------------Minus
T. Hansbrough & C. Hayes----None----------Minus
Overall it appears the Raptors have lost some talent from last year. But if Joseph can make the leap that many feel he will, they will be right where there were last year. I see 4th to 5th place in the East.

Washington:
Lost-------------------------Added---------------Plus/Minus
K. Seraphin---------------None----------------Minus
P. Pierce-----------------J. Dudley-------------Minus
R. Butler-----------------K. Oubre--------------Wash
G. Temple---------------A. Anderson----------Plus
G. Rice--------------------G. Neal----------------Plus
Losing Pierce might be a real problem come playoff time, but Dudley and Neal should be able to pick up the slack during the regular season. Fifth to seventh in the East is a reasonable expectation I think.

Milwaukee:
Lost------------------------Added----------------Plus/Minus
Z. Pachulia---------------G. Monroe-----------PLUS
E. Ilyasova---------------C. Copeland---------Minus
J. Dudley-----------------G. Vasquez----------Wash
J. Gutierrez--------------R. Vaughan----------Plus?
K. Martin-----------------D. Inglis---------------Youth/Wash
Milwaukee was the sixth seed last year and they have a better mix of players this year it looks like. So I think they will move up to the 4th or 5th seed this year.

Boston:
Lost--------------------------Added-----------------Plus/Minus
B. Bass---------------------A. Johnson-------------plus
G. Wallace---------------D. Lee-----------------plus
L. Datome---------------P. Jones---------------Plus/Wash
C. Babb-------------------RJ Hunter-------------Plus
P. Pressey----------------T. Rozier-------------Plus/Wash
Seventh seed last year, but we won’t sneak up on teams like late last year. I expect a slight increase over last year so anywhere from fifth to seventh seed is the range I see.

Brooklyn:
Lost----------------------Added-------------------Plus/Minus
M. Plumlee------------A. Bargnani-------------Minus
M. Teletovic----------T. Robinson-------------Wash
C. Jefferson-----------C. McCullouch----------Wash
E. Clark-----------------R.. Hollis-Jefferson-----Plus
A. Anderson-----------W. Ellington-------------Wash
D. Williams-------------S. Larkin-----------------Minus
Hard to see much improvement from last year’s eight seed, but this team had to dump salary. Deron Williams is not that much of a loss to me as they have J. Jack on the roster for the point. But I see the Nets out of the playoffs this season, which means we get a lottery pick!

Indiana:
Lost----------------------Added-------------------Plus.Minus
R. Hibbert--------------M. Turner----------------Minus
D. West-----------------J. Hill---------------------Minus/wash
L. Scola------------------C. Budinger------------Wash
CJ Watson--------------M. Ellis-------------------PLUS
D. Sloan-----------------J. Young------------------Wash/Minus
D. Rudez & C. Copeland-----None--------------Wash
Bird felt it was time to re-tool the Pacers this off-season. But replacing Hibbert and West with J. Hill, L. Allen and M. Turner would seem a stretch at best. I have no faith in playing P. George at PF as has been talked about at all. Another season OUT of the playoffs and perhaps a fall back from last year’s ninth spot.

Miami:
Lost----------------------------Added---------------------Plus/Minus
M. Beasley------------------A. Stoudemire-------------Plus/Wash
D. Granger------------------G. Green---------------------Plus/Wash
B. Walker--------------------J. Winslow------------------PLUS
Z. Dragic & S. Nappier-----None------------------------Minus
All the heat needed was to have some healthy body’s to make the playoffs last year. Even IF Whiteside can’t match his half season last year, Riley has built in some depth up front. If Wade and Bosh can stay healthy most of the year, they will be back in the playoffs.

Charlotte:
Lost-------------------------Added------------------------Plus/Minus
B. Biyombo--------------S. Hawes---------------------Wash
N. Vonleh----------------F. Kaminsky----------------Wash
J. Maxwell---------------T. Hansbrough--------------Wash
L. Stephenson-----------N. Batum-------------------Plus
G. Henderson------------J. Lamb----------------------Minus
M. Williams---------------J. Lin------------------------Wash
Overall not much talent change, unless you think moving Stephenson alone is a big upgrade. I don’t think they’ve done enough to move themselves into the playoff picture this year myself.

Detriot:
Lost---------------------------Added----------------------Plus/Minus
G. Monroe-----------------E. Ilyasova--------------------Minus
S. Williams------------------M. Morris--------------------Plus
Q. Miller---------------------A. Baynes--------------------Plus
T. Prince---------------------S. Johnson------------------Wash
C. Butler----------------------D. Granger----------------Minus
J. Lucas------------------------S. Blake-------------------Plus
The Pistons have improved the talent level this off season, but they have a ways to go before they will be a playoff team.

Orlando:
Lost-------------------------------Added------------------Plus/Minus
K. O’Quinn--------------------J. Smith-------------------Plus
M. Harkless-------------------M. Hezonja--------------Plus
L. Ridnour----------------------CJ Watson--------------Plus/ Wash
W. Green & B. Gordon-------S. Nappier--------------Wash/plus
The Magic have the look of a team that had upgraded their roster and may be ready to make a move into the playoffs this year. They have some holes for sure, but they do have some young skilled players (Oladipo, Payton, Gordon, Hezonja).

Philadelphia:
Lost----------------------------Added-----------------------Plus/Minus
H. Sims-----------------------J. Okafor---------------------PLUS
L. Mbah a Moute-----------C. Landry--------------------Wash
J. Richardson---------------N. Stauskas-------------------Plus
I. Smith-----------------------P. Jackson-------------------Wash
The poster team for NBA tanking here. Okafor and Stauskas add talent, but Embiid’s looking like Sam Bowie or Greg Oden more and more now. They still look like the worst team in the East to me.

New York:
Lost----------------------------Added-----------------------Plus/Minus
J. Smith----------------------R. Lopez-------------------- - Plus
C. Aldrich-------------------K. O’Quinn--------------------Wash
A. Bargnani----------------K. Porzingis--------------------Plus
Q. Acy-----------------------D. Williams--------------------Wash
T. Wear----------------------K. Seraphin------------------Plus
T. Hardaway----------------A. Affalo----------------------Plus
S. Larkin---------------------J. Grant----------------------Wash/Minus
Jackson has upgraded the talent on this Knick team, but they had nowhere to go but up really. Any hope of them being a playoff team is silly however, they are still a long, LONG way from being a .500 team.

My projected playoff seeding for the East based on today’s rosters:
1) Cleveland
2) Atlanta
3) Chicago
4) Milwaukee
5) Toronto
6) Boston
7) Washington
Cool Miami
Orlando being the team just on the outside looking in.
